Your cart is empty.This is six feet of premium 18% Nickel-Silver fret wire, in handy pre-radiused 8-inch lengths. This fret wire is produced by the best-known German fret wire manufacturers, known for producing the highest-quality fretwires commercially available today. This alloy of 18% Nickel-Silver (actually a combination of copper, nickel and other metals) is the most common material used in modern guitar fret wire. This fret wire is considered to be of EXTRA WIDE (JUMBO) crown width and EXTRA HIGH (JUMBO) crown height, and overall is close to Stewart-MacDonald's #150 "JUMBO" fret wire - actually it is just a little higher! This fret wire can be used to repair/replace frets on an existing electric or acoustic guitar, electric or acoustic bass, or other larger sized stringed instrument, and it is also great for new instrument building. The dimensions are as follows: Size Specs: Crown Height: .057-inch (1.45mm), Crown Width: .110-inch (2.79mm), Tang Depth: .074-inch (1.88mm). A slot width of .023-inch is recommended for best results when installing this fret wire.

I bought these to use on my first fret replacement project, worked out well.Beaware when choosing frets as there are a lot of choices to meet different requirement. I did have to straighten the frets pre radius’s do to my classical guitar has a flat fingerboard.

From my experience this wire would be described as Tall Medium...this wire has the height of jumbo wire but is not as wide. I understand that.....yes there is extra wide jumbo....but regular jumbo wire is a bit wider than this wire. All said this is quality wire just as good as what Stew Mac sells! The reason for 4 star and not 5 rating is because of the radius being wayyyyy to small for a universal application...this wire is radius is somewhere between 9 and 10. Most modern fretboard radius are 12 to 16. So unless you regretting a vintage fender,your going to end up re bending this wire to match fretboard.

First off, I gotta say Gitty is really good to buy from. They are FAST!! Anyway, I only use Jescar frets, this is my first time using jumbo frets. (Normally I use Medium/high frets) these frets are more like railroad track than frets!! They are massive!! Can't wait to see how they feel. Thanks again to Gitty for the fast shipping and the fair price.
