Title says it all. If you have an “insert†port on your interface and want to connect a compressor, an eq, or another piece of hardware, You will use this cable. I will break down installing: your single stereo end will go into the “insert†on your interface or mixer. Then the black mono “tip†will go in input of your compressor or whatever. Then the other red mono “ring†will go in output of compressor (or whatever device) what happens here is the sound comes out of the insert from your interface/mixer, goes into the input “tip†of the hardware, and then comes out of the output “ring†of the device, essentially forming a loop where your audio passes through and comes back into your interface (or mixer)If you need additional help there are YouTube videos explaining more. This cord is great quality for the price !

I originally bought this for the mono effects loop on my Behringer USB recording interface, but I use it to record in stereo instead. My Korg multieffects pedal has a stereo output making this possible. This cable is so nice, I bought the XLR version, too.

Works great, just wish they had a 3ft version so there wasn't as much loose cable between shorter connections. Great quality cable, as all of mine from Cable Matters have, and sound great. They all worked with my mixer/compressor/etc.

Cable Matters is my go-to for all cables except high-end audiophile interconnects (which are an arcane Black Art). I use Cable Matters for CAT6A, musical instruments, and non high-end audio. This particular cable is fairly esoteric, intended for fx send/returns and splitting stereo audio into dual mono, mostly for music creation. It's well-made, works without crackles or other problems, and does the job perfectly at a decent price.

I've bought a few of these at a few different lengths now and the Tip and Ring TS connectors have been mislabeled on every one of them. Most uses you probably won't notice but if you try to patch a compressor with this as labeled you're gonna have a bad time. But I mean, once you know that, they work. For what they cost, whatever.
