The majority of non-workstation or server motherboards only offer 4-6 SATA ports, thus I picked up an LSI 9300-8i PCI-Express 3.0 SATA / SAS 8-Port SAS3 12Gb/s HBA (2x SFF-8643 mini-SAS HD ports) to expand the number of SSD's and HDD's I'd be able to configure for my home server. For the HBA, I needed a decent set of breakout cables to connect the additional drives and these cables fit the bill perfectly. They are well made, stay snuggly in place on the HBA, and there have been zero speed drops (which I have experienced on lesser quality cables in the past). It's important to note that these cables are much longer and thiner than standard SATA cables you'd use to connect from your motherboard to a disk. Some care needs to be taken when handling them. They're not exactly fragile or brittle, and this isn't specific to the brand (all breakout cables are similar), though you don't want to bend the cables or tighten them down with zip ties. For cable management, I'd recommend UGREEN's Hook and Loop material (it's like velcro, but better).https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N5NKVVK/

Works well connected directly to NAS drives (3x ironwolf pro 4TBs - in a parity storage space), and (1x ironwolf pro 4TB - connected to an old trayless hotswap cage). Copied 1.6 TB of data from the ~7.0TB storage space to standalone drive in 1HR 55MIN. The cable is connected to a LSI Broadcom SAS 9300-8i 12 Gb/s I picked up here on Amazon.

Finally found a set that actually works for my Areca RAID card. I've purchased a few that did not work. I recommend getting this longer length instead of a shorter set.

Works great for me and my SSD and mechanical RAIDs. I keep adding drives to my RS3DC080 and expander card, so I keep buying more of these cables. No problems at all.

Cables are a bit thin and fragile, however they have been installed in my computer for a few weeks now and I haven't had a single problem with them. They work great!

Cables are in perfect condition. They appear to be built well. I bought 2 cables which support 8 drives. I'm using 6 for my nas and no issues with performance.
