It is a fine thing to have a nice scale, but a scale is only as accurate as its calibration. So, how do you verify calibration? Simple. You use a known calibrated reference, because your scale is only as accurate as your calibration source. In the past, quality calibration weights were often priced rather unreasonably. This set seems to break the barrier for lower cost but still acceptably precision calibration sources. There are seven weights in the set, and they can be combined in various ways both to calibrate to particular values, and to check calibration on less sensitive scales by making larger or smaller steps of change to find the scale's minimum resolution. This is particularly useful on electronic scales. I have found that cheaper electronic scales are often quite sloppy in their accuracy, which may not matter on an envelope, but might matter greatly when mixing paints, chemicals, or measuring quantities of very tiny parts to do bulk parts count by weight. In those cases you really want to know if it is 20 grams or 21 grams, and these little weights will help give you confidence in your scale. They come in a nice little plastic case and take up very little room. I keep them in my toolbox, and use them to double check my freon scale, which has an accuracy down to the limit of these weights' resolution. So far, so good. So go ahead and splurge and get yourself some calibration weights. You'll be glad you did! I am.p.s. Don't miss the set of weight handling tweezers built into their holder on the bottom of the plastic case. Handy, but not too obvious. :-)5 stars. Highly recommended

I got these for reference weights, but I have no way to confirm their accuracy. My 10th gram scale agrees with them, but that doesn't tell me if they are accurate since they are supposed to tell me if the scale is accurate, not the other way around. The only way to know if these are accurate is to have a set of more expensive test weights that are "traceable" to the national standard to compare them to.These seem to be generic. They come in the same container as another set I have just like them that came from a different brand, just the case color is different. But the cheap tweezers in the bottom of the case are the same, and also don't open wide enough to grab on to the weights without me grabbing them and bending them wider (which is easy because they are not good tweezers, but they don't really need to be since they are just for lifting weights without getting one's grubby fingers on them and potentially changing their weight).

Good set of calibration weights. You kind of just have to take their word on the accuracy, but my scale seems to agree with the weights. Good value.

I don't have many complaints about this set. I wasn't able to compare to a lab standard from the calibration company my lab uses yet, so I can speak to how accurate they are. It's difficult to say how close they really are to being reliable, but I have no reason to doubt them at this point. They helped at least calibrate a balance so relative measurements are fair.

First, the tweezers are stored in the bottom of the holder. Finding actual good quality weights sounds easier than it is. Our scale needs as accurate as you can get for not being a high end university or medical lab. Having weights to keep track of the scale to maintain accuracy is critical. These weights are as close as you can get to measure and record scale accuracy. Uploaded images showing weight measurements of these weights. Calibration before these was as accurate as 0.002 grams for reference.Having as small as 1 gram and up to 20 grams or a total of 60 grams in this set is a nice range and works great for our needs. The price point of under $10 for these with tweezers and an all in one storage case is amazing and a great deal. Highly recommend this set if you’re in the market for precision weights.

Je les ai testé sur plusieurs balances de précision et ces minis poids sont précis au 100 ème.

My set of calibration weights arrived today. I've just tested them, and not only is each weight dead on accurate to the 100th gram (cg), i.e. dead on accurate when weighed on my precision cg scales, but so is any combination of these weights (including all seven of them together) too! That is, to my mind, quite remarkable for a "cheap and cheerful" €10.99 purchase and I am more than chuffed!! What is more, they come in a neat little plastic box so you can't lose them (otherwise, very easy to do with, for example, the tiny 1.00g weight ☹). Perfect!
