When a new washer was installed, it was noticed that the old source hoses had wire mesh filters. The new braided stainless hoses did not come with filters. Two major hardware chains did not have them. These from Amazon worked just fine. It makes one think how often are wire mesh in-line filters need to inspected or changed? The old filters may have been in the old lines for 10 years plus.

I've been working towards getting fully automated watering systems going for our gardens this year. We use water timers and standard garden hose for our water distribution. I needed a few hose filters to protect the sprinkler systems as we're on a well and sometimes get a little bit of sediment that makes it through. I was a little bit dubious as to how well these cheap hose filters would actually work, but I can now confidently state they do an excellent job.Just a couple nights ago, I noticed that one of the hose/sprinkler combos was performing extremely poorly. I took a look at this filter and found a bunch of organic material that had gotten caught by these filters and was blocking the flow. I would MUCH rather be able to clean out a filter than I would unclog a sprinkler system from any organic debris that happens to make it into our plumbing! After a few moments, I was back up to full flow and very happy this cheap investment had protected the rest of the system!I definitely recommend having one or more of these installed on your hoses, especially if you're using well water and don't have a whole house water filter inline with your water supply. A little bit of cheap insurance goes a long way!

There's nothing like a tool box with everything you need in it. It's great to have a three pack. Once you see how easy they are to use to stop a hose from dripping you will be glad you have two more to use elsewhere. Highly recommended. Quality is good and they will filter out stones that do make it through the hose (or faucet??) after road work on pipes has been done on your street!! Not more clogs in your sprinklers!
