How to Install Tow Bar Base Plate for 2007-2018 Wrangler JK JKU

Step 1

  • Remove all the eight front bumper bolts.

Step 2

  • Align the baseplate’s lower hole with the existing middle hole in the frame. Drilling the top holes.

Step 3

  • Insert the nut into the frame end and align with holes. Add a taillight wiring harness and ready brake cable to the brake pedal.

  • Attach the sturdy baseplate safety cables to the provided convenience link on the baseplate.

Good quality, installed to my Jeep Wrangler 2016 unlimited. Did not come with directions but the pictures provided in their Amazon advertisement was sufficient. I would suggest familiarizing yourself with a couple YouTube videos before starting the project. I'm not a mechanic by any means but I felt this was fairly easy to install

I purchased this knowing that more than likely it would have to be modified to fit with my aftermarket front bumper. I modified mine to bolt completely through the frame with grade 8 nuts bolts and washers, lower on the frame than the way it was designed. Hope this helps someone else with an aftermarket bumper. 2011 Jeep Wrangler JK
