Camshaft actuators are an important part of your vehicles engine. When the factory actuators fail you may begin to experience decreased driveability, hestiation and fault codes which will cause a check engine light (CEL).

I've used this product on several 5.4 Fords. I think it's better looking and works better than the original part. Out of all the replacements I've tried, this is the best one I've found. It's a reliable part, so if you need a VCT solenoid, I'd say go for it.

Just installed today and they did help my truck run a lot better. Time will tell how long they last. My last after market ones lasted 6 years and about 40k.Be careful when installing or removing as the screws can fall out. And if that happens, you are in for a real treat.

Amazing for the price and works just as good as OEM!!! But here's my 2 cents...I'm a certified automotive mechanic and despite what most people are saying about theirs failing after a few miles/hundred miles. I race my car and also daily it, I have no issues what so ever after installing these puppies. The car has over 104K miles on the motor and its got every performance bolt on you can imagine!Once I got these I tested the continuity to make sure they were sound and proceeded to clean them first!That's right you need to clean off the preservative and then soak them in motor oil. I use 5w30... and before someone says anything, these motors are meant to run on 5w30. Ford uses 5w20 for MPG and CAFE standards so they aren't taxed as much due to federal emission regulations.Check them first, clean them, soak them for at least 30 mins in your motor oil of choice (mine was 5w30) I had them submerged all the way to about where the black connection is clipped into the head of the solenoid and I would periodically shake them and get as much bubbles out as possible. Then just leave them in their until you are ready to install.Sincerely Mr J

Was helping out a friend who was down on his luck, Injured back and couldn't work. Bought these due the big price difference. The OEM ones were 68 bucks each while these were 32.99 for the pair. Worked for a couple of months then started running really bad and setting camshaft codes. Double checked everything on it and all test kept pointing back to the solenoids. Bought 2 new ones from dealer and problem solved. Lesson learned. On the 5.4 3 valve use OEM parts or they may well bite you. Not worth the hassle of returning them so they go in the trash. One other note is there are 2 style of valve covers on the engine. One has a small hole the other has a larger one. These cam with the seal to reseal the hole in the cover as you can pull the solenoids out without removing cover. If you have the smaller hole the valve covers have to come off.
