UNPLUG power. Then SHORT across old cap terminals with screwdriver BEFORE removing wires. Compressor motor works fine now.

This capacitor is an exact replacement for a Pentair EC-LA01N Booster pump capacitor that runs the pool cleaner. Easy to replace took 5 mins. Search youtube on how to replace it and make sure to discharge the capacitor before removing the old one.

Being a pool owner and being my own pool maintenance guy for 30 plus years, I’m familiar with the dreaded humming sound and pump not running and needing a new capacitor. Every few years ..This new capacitor did the trick and the pump is back working at what it’s suppose to do.

My first time installing a capacitor on my pool pump but after watching a youtube video it was quite easy.So glad it worked as now I don't have to buy a new pump.A year later the pump hummed again so the first thing I did was check the capacitor.It was leaking under the top so I ordered another one.I read that capacitors can last as little as 1000 hours depending on how hot your pump is running.I am sure the high temperatures we have in Florida don't help.Since I work from home I am able to keep all my filters quite clean and changed about every week or so.I had read a review where a guy said his lasted 5 years but he may be in a cooler climate or have a newer pump.Mine ran for about 2600 hours in a year, it is an older pump so I guess I should be happy so I ordered another one.
