I do a lot of maintenance work on my own cars, and changing the brakes is something that I'm very familiar with. A little over a year ago, I bought a used vehicle, and had my mechanic give it a once over. He had this exact tool to see where the brake pads were at, and evaluate how much life they had left. When I saw him pull it out of his pocket, I said to myself, that is something that I would like to have. That is why I didn't hesitate to order it when I saw it available, and I'm happy to have it now. It's a very simple little tool that measures the thickness of the brake pads, and gives you an overall perspective of when they should be changed. It's a nice tool to have in order to make a quick evaluation, and have a more specific read on the brake pads lifespan. It's nicely compact, and fully riveted together, so you don't lose any of the measurement tools. All in all, it's well made, a very simple concept, but highly effective. I'd certainly recommend it.
