Pro-Lite Surfboard Roof Rack Pads & Tie Down Straps
Available for Flat Bar or Round Bar Vehicle Rack Systems
Our car roof rack pads are designed for either flat bar or round bar systems. Both styles are available in either a standard surfboard 19" width or wide stand up paddle board (SUP) 31" inch width. Made with a durable black diamond patterned material that compliments any vehicle or rack system color. All our rack pad sets are stand alone and don't come with the required tie straps to secure surfboards. We offer tie downs in both 10' or 15' foot lengths seen below.
A Little More About Our Rack Pads
Velcro Closure System
All our rack pads feature an easy to use Velcro closure design for a snug fit on crossbars.
Regular 18" Width
The regular width roof rack pads are available in both flat bar and round bar styles. Designed for standard shortboard or longboard surfboards. Two sets of these pads can usually fit side by side on most rack systems.
Wide 31" Width
The wide width roof rack pads are available in both flat bar and round bar styles. Designed for wider than normal longboards or stand up paddle (SUP) type boards. These pads will fill up most of the width of the rack crossbar.

Tie Down Straps
All our rack pad sets are stand alone and don't include the required tie down straps to secure surfboards. Our tiedown options can been seen above in both 10' or 15' foot.
Now a little about us...
…What a Long, Strange Trip it's Been
Pro-Lite was conceived in the minds of two traveling surfers, Bill Hapgood and Dave Neilson. At the time the pair was working for a major airline and traveling the world. Soon into their travels they realized one key missing ingredient necessary to continue their journey, the need to protect their surfboards.
In 1982 Pro-Lite was born. Bill and Dave searched out industrial sewers in Costa Mesa, CA and began making a limited line of surf travel bags. This put Pro-Lite on the map as the first bag manufacturer to make travel grade surfboard bags in the United States.
As the brands reputation as a quality travel bag manufacturer grew surfers from the United States and around the world looked to Pro-Lite to provide them with the gear to get their surfboards to their destination safely. Professional surfers from around the world used Pro-Lite travel bags as they bounced around the world on tour.
Throughout the 90's Pro-Lite expanded its product offering outside of travel to include a full line of bags for day use as well as leashes, traction pads and car racks. This put Pro-Lite in a position to be the go to brand for any products used to enhance your surfing experience.
The evolution of Pro-Lite continues today with new owners in place since 2005 and a renewed energy and vision to design and manufacture functional and durable surfing accessories. Our key focus is quality and innovation. Pro-Lite is first and foremost a travel company and will continue to make products that are designed for surf and travel.

Just what I was looking for to stop from abrading my canoe gunwales on my Subaru factory rack with 2.5" oval bars. Actually it's got more padding than I need, so I use them upside down. The hook and loop (Velcro) fastener is extremely strong.

These pads work fine, but I’ve only had them for 2 months, and they’re already starting to fade to a light gray/chalk color. I’ve had other brand pads on the car for years that never faded or had this issue. Customer service was unresponsive.

I bought these thinking they would work well with Thule crossbars. However they do not fit snug on them, so after a while of driving they will rotate upside down on the bar, causing your SUP to slip off the padding and become loose on the rack. They work great upside down, but then your SUP is no longer resting on the padding, but on the velcro side of the material.

Product is shown to be black but it's actually grey. Wish I was told before buying as I wanted black to match my truck and racks.

These fit my cross bars perfectly and look great. The velcro is very secure and the padding is very thick up top.
