I like the length, good weight and sharpness. They are the essential tools. It is perfect to make 1/2 inch wide groove cut. They are good quality and the price is great which includes a second set of cutting blades. It complementmy regular size cutters. The plastic container is not convience to use. Assume it is mainly used to protect the tools during shipping.

This is the first carbide set of lathe tools I have used. My first project was turning hard Maple and they worked perfectly for me. The finish cuts were so smooth I only sanded with 600 grit once for a no-tool mark finish using beeswax and mineral oil. I am now on my third project and the edges all seem to cut like new.

I was experiencing a lot of catches, trying to use them like traditional lathe tools (on a full size lathe) - These are really somewhat on the smaller side for bit lathes, probably best suited to a mini-lathe.. All that aside, after some trial and error (and then some research) Ive learned that these work best and most accurately on a SMOOTH tool rest surface, and you must hold them FLAT to the tool rest, and straight on to centerline of work piece - can't tilt them to one side or another, or up into the wood, or you get some nasty catches.. (I had a small bowl literally explode on me!) the cutters are very sharp , and cut well, and once you learn to control them, they give a nice smooth cut... So, with a little practice and understanding that they have to be held flat and level on the tool rest for best results, they make a very nice and usable set of lathe tools. I have not yet needed to replace or even rotate a cutter, even after that huge catch I mentioned, so I am pretty happy with them so far. I'm considering making some new (longer) tool handles for more control standing at a full size (12x36) lathe, as extended use of them gets uncomfortable after a while.

I make pipes which involve turning small pieces of briar or morta. While the chisels got the job done, these tools are far superior for the fine work I do. The size and sharpness of the is great. The finish on the blocks superior. The blades last a pretty good while and the joy of not having to sharpen is nice. For work on small blocks, I highly recommend picking up this set.

I make pens and small boxes. This set works well. To finish the inside and bottom of a 4" box I have to use a diffeerent tool because these are too short to reach the bottom.

My first time using this carbide tool, but I am impressed, it is sharp and needs little to no learning time to use efficiently. It is impressive, and of good quality.

The tools look great and feel nice in the hand. They carve really well and the blades are very sharp. The handles are short, but as the description says, they are classified as a 'mini' size.
