Currently I am working on a 1968 ford f100 4x4 high boy with a Edelbrock 1406 carb with electric choke. I bought this because I am a high school senior so my budget is only so much. well anyways I bought this because my truck was acting like there was something plugging the jets and isn't getting fuel. so I bought the rebuild kit and once it came I tore apart the carb at my school because i have shop class and used our sonic cleaner to clean the main part of the carb and all the jets and sprayers. after that i put in everything that the rebuild kit needed replaced. but to note there are 4 carb float needles two of the flote needles are a normal needle that is for performance and getting the most horsepower out of the engine. then there are needles that have a spring that is separated that has to be put together that is more for off-roading. the reason it has the spring in it is for more stability. I put the ones with the springs in because I live on a gravel road and where I live is mostly gravel so I put those needles in . the only problem is the little gaskets for the sprairs to feed the engine with fuel were a little snug on the screws and ports but nothing to be worried about. also after putting all the new components in. The flotes will need to be adjusted. you can watch youtube videos to see how much they need to be set and how to properly set them. after getting this back together the carb worked perfect after doing a toon up so I would suggest this to someone that is on a budget like me.

I have now used this kit for several Edelbrock 1406 rebuilds. These work as well as the name brand at 1/3 the cost. Kit is very good quality and is complete with everything you need to rebuild a 1406.

Accelerator pump tore within first thirty minutes of driving. One float had a hole on it so it took on gas. Would not recommend. Quality is horrible.

Gaskets are a little big for an Edelbrock 1406 but they can be cut down and work. The brass floats were a little bit dented as well but as long as you set them properly they still float so they'll still work. Seems a minor inconvenience for saving 50-100$ on Edelbrock's kit.

I was gonna send my carburetor in to a rebuild service, but then I started watching some YouTube videos and seeing how easy it is to rebuild bought this kit, cleaned out the carburetor rebuilt it and reinstalled it. Was very easy I was worried about adjusting the floats, but even that turned out to be pretty easy.

The gasket set is semi universal. Comes with gaskets for a few different carburetors. The floats stick. When I first rebuilt the carb with the floats supplied I put it on and had a geyser coming out the top. Took it back apart, bent the ears on the floats a little more to make it move more freely and still geyser out the top. Took it back apart put the stock floats in and solved my issue.

I used some parts /carb hat gasket ,carb top gasket float needle and seat,the rest of the gaskets fit poorly,I am choosing to buy restoration kit directly from Eldelbrock

The only gasket that fit was the large gasket to seal to and bottom together. Bad kit

I was going to rebuild a carb but because of POOR packaging floats were damaged and un useable.
