I tried fixing the old module, took it apart, and it was really in bad shape. Soldered the obviously loose and broken connections, reinstalled back on the vehicle, it didn't work. If your old module is in relatively good shape, then re-soldering the broken joints on the board might work. My module was too far gone, so this was my only option, and thanks to Amazon having this item at a really good price, I bought it, installed it, and from the very first time the vehicle I started up my Tahoe, those dreaded ABS lights WHERE GONE!!!!! It's a really great feeling being able to fix your own vehicle, you truly get a sense of how all the different pieces go together and work. The only thing I need to point out is make sure you know what module you need. My Tahoe had the 4WD, brake calipers front & back, and the ABS brake modulator pump that this ABS module sit's atop is rated @ 7200 lbs., if your not certain of the set up you have, my only advice is to take the whole unit, the ABS module and the pump it's attached to, off the vehicle and go online and do your homework, call the Dealer, or part store before pulling the trigger on a new unit. It seems this ABS module and pump were used in about a million other Chevy vehicles, GMC, and so on. The hardest part of the whole operation was disconnecting the hydraulic brake lines from the ABS pump in order to take the whole assembly out. Take your time re-installing the hydraulic lines bake onto the pump, IF YOU AREN'T CAREFUL, THE THREADS ON THE PUMP WILL NOT SEAL, AND YOU'LL BE CHANGING THAT OUT TOO. GOOD LUCK!

i wish this wasn’t so expensive and that they took back my old abs module. i don’t want it but it did solve the problem of the abs light on

Don't even think about buying this, started sending codes (lights coming on) about a week in, then more frequent, then constant. A1 Cardone will disavow any knowledge of it being their problem. Failed within 4 months. Have yet to hear back from Amazon regarding warranty. Repeat.........Pile of Junk.....!!!!!

the anti lock module was "rebuilt" obviously not a good job because it failed almost imediately......contacted their support for a replacment but they refused......said I had to work with Amazon......problem is the car would have to be parked for a week if I pulled it off for an exchange.

I have to return it, but on vacation so have to wait until I return to home so I can remove it and send it back. It worked for 2 days and then it got 0265 code which means there is an internal problem with it. It is intermittent. That is a problem I had many years ago when I changed the one before this. Cardone usually sells great products. I have purchased many products before no problems.
