Wholeheartedly RECOMMENDED for anyone with hair, carpets, or pets that shed. It's especially great if you're sensitive to noise, or spontaneously want to clean at night (and you don't want to wake up the family or neighbors.)I summoned a formidable Hair Beast from our carpet with this magic wand. My husband and I spent some quality time admiring it together, and then I forgot to take a photo. That was a mistake. I'll try to update this in about a week with pictures of the next one, with a banana for scale. Until then, please take my word for it: the detritus I retrieved from the carpets with this unassuming little miracle was something to see.My situation: we have under 20lbs of pets altogether (one cat and one very smol dog that could be mistaken for a very large dust bunny.) Then there's my hair, which also somehow embarrassingly ends up everywhere. Our blue carpet was turning a dull brown before I used this carpet rake gadget.PROS1. ASSEMBLY: The handle arrives in a few pieces that are very easy to screw together, and secure once done.2. BONUS ITEM: There is a handheld companion piece that could be used on the couch or a shirt. That's a nice touch!3. EFFICACY: VERY effective at pulling up all kinds of pet and human hair and quite a bit of dirt along with it. Carpet is so much cleaner. Still marveling at the transformation!4. QUIET, QUICK, EASY. I prefer this to a robot vacuum! I won't stop vacuuming altogether, but I will be able to vacuum far less often.5. I can wear headphones while using this, or hold a conversation.6. No damage to the carpet!CONS1. Not for hard floors. I was hoping it might have some sort of silicone end that I could use for sweeping, but I'll just have to get another tool.The main tool has a side that is a kind of ribbed metal and can be pushed or pulled. If you ever used the paddle-shaped velvety hair removers that have a pile that goes one way or the other to either collect or release hair, I'm guessing that pushing or pulling the metal works similarly? I have to experiment with it more.The other side of the tool is plastic and seems to work well, too, but I think I had the best luck with the metal side. It's possible the plastic side is better for deeper pile rugs, and I'll be trying that out later this week too. I will update with the results!All in all, I probably spent less than 10 minutes on a couple of large very low-pile rugs (about 200 square feet) and collected so much hair and dirt that it is frankly disturbing to think it had been lurking there for so long. No wonder I was always sneezing when I tried to do push-ups! We do have a robot vacuum, but I actually prefer this.So effective and satisfying to use. Worth every penny. Recommended!

I got a carpet rake and a small handheld rake. The handheld rake is approximately 5⅞ inches long and arrived sealed in clear plastic. The carpet rake arrived disassembled and I had to to screw together four hollow metal rods along with the broom head. It took me about a minute to assemble. Once put together, the rake has a handle that is about 57 inches long, with a broom head roughly a foot wide. It also has a loop for hanging.I can adjust the length of the rake handle; I can remove sections to shorten it to approximately 28 inches. The rake has a coiled metal side for drawing across rugs and other surfaces to remove hair. I used it to pick up pet hair - both cat and dog hair - as well as my own hair from various surfaces.The manual has clear instructions on how to use the rake. The gold metal side is intended for carpets and should not be used on sofas or beds. If the metal side isn’t effectively removing hair, it might be because I’m using the empty slot between the two horizontal bars. I adjusted the handle height until the bars properly scraped the carpet. The white TPU side is more versatile, as I can use it on carpets, sofas, and beds.I also found an insert warning me that the rake should not be used on carpets woven from silk, cotton thread, or jute. I always use the carpet rake before vacuuming. It reduces a large amount of hair my vacuum sucks up, meaning I don’t have to empty the dust bin as frequently due to excess dander and hair.

Large dogs are great, but they shed... a lot. My sister-in-law has a big dog and is constantly cleaning fur off her sofa and her carpet. For anyone who have this problem, they'll know that vacuums don't do the job when it comes to picking fur out of the carpet.When I came across this carpet rake, I decided to get this for her to see if it works for her. After a week, she told me that it worked really well!With a long handle, this carpet rake will save your back while gathering up pet fur from the carpet. Just like a leaf rake, the way this works is to gather clumps of fur up into a small pile, then it's easy to then pick the pile up by hand. At the head of the rake, there are two sides. On one side blades of copper (don't worry, not sharp) that can pull even the most stubborn fur and on the other side is a strip of spiked, plastic that is stickier than the copper side. The two sides work differently in different situations. My sis in law says the copper side works well for her but she does switch sides in certain situations.Also included in the box is a hand-held fur rake that also has two sides. Both made of plastic. These are good for getting into smaller spots or on the sofas. As this is just an addon, it works okay.Rather than putting a lot of strength into it, it's actually just easier to make multiple light passes over an area and slowly gathering up all of the hair.In the end, it's surprising how much hair gets picked up.
