I switched to glass pots for a low-nickel diet due to a nickel allergy. Foods in glass pots scorches really easily, and can be cold in one spot, hot in another. I ordered 3 different types of heat diffusers to use on my gas stove. These cast iron ones distributed the heat most evenly, and no scorching. By far the best of the ones I tried. Highly recommend.

These are very well-made and heavy. I have a hard time getting some of my burners low enough on my gas stove, but these work beautifully to keep things at a perfect simmer. I'm very happy with my purchase.

I purchased these to use on my Verona stove because all the burners run way to hot and even on the lowest settings they are too hot. These fit fine on my cast iron grates and I like the fact that they come with the little removeable handles because I am able to pick up and move at hot plate off the burner or add a cool plate to the burner without getting close to the hot metal. The only thing I don't care for is they smell pretty bad when you first start to use them and they continue to soot or have a black flaky residue come of the bottom and fall on the stove top when you move it around. And make sure to wash these with something you don't want to reuse at the black soot will stain your rag/sponge etc. Overall they serve their purpose and were cheaper than the brand that went with my stove. I may purchase two more in the future.

My gas range does not have a burner low enough to "just simmer" anything, so I need a diffuser to bring the heat down a notch when making things that require simmering - sauces, soups etc. when a bain marie is just too much work - or not big enough. I have purchased several over the years, and had earlier obtained the smaller of these, which is VERY useful, so when I started to buy a second of the smaller ones, the two together was an obvious choice. These are solid, medium heavy, cast iron with an enamel finish, so they can go in the dishwasher making cleaning easier. I like these better than my others because they are heavier than many I have found, which means they provide a more even heat, the better for simmering. I use two together when I really need to really keep the heat down, and that has worked well.I especially love the larger one because it fits my large stew pot, so I can simmer large batches of sauce, stew, soup with far less attention than previously required, yea!I have also used them as a warmer in the bottom of bread baskets - heat it, wrap it in a towel, put in the bottom of the basket, then put the bread on top to keep bread warm longer at the table.I am ordering another pair of these I like them so well, and who doesn't want both soup AND hot chocolate going in the winter?

I love your product! 😠Thank youThis is the best product that I have purchased to go on top of my stove to keep my food from burning in my pots and pans. I can cook bacon with even heat in my big pans and when I cook chili and simmer it in my pot I do not get any burnt product on the bottom.

The large one with the hole focused the heat in the middle rather than diffusing the heat, which negated it’s usefulness. Also, the fumes from the coating burning were quite noxious and made me stop using them.

These are essential to get the perfect low simmer for tender beef chili or any other slow simmer recipe! I don’t know why I waited so long to get these! They are superb!

Very slick surface. I almost lost a large pot of water to the stove top, floor and myself. The painted surface looks different than my old one. The paint appears to be much thinner and shinier. Most likely a different manufacturer or it has been cheapened over the years like most items that I have replaced lately. I am going to attempt to sand the paint from the raised areas where the pot sits to roughen the surface. Hopefully that helps.I didn't notice a toxic odor like others have reported nor the blistering paint. They are meant to be used on a low flame.

Excellent difussers, solid cast iron so spread heat and don't rust like other types of difussers. Dishwasher safe too!

The diffusers may heat up so you need to control your burner so as to control the diffusers and they don't heat up to much.
