Product used to replace broken 3 speed fan switches. Very easy to install. Just bear in mind that this product does not come with new wires so old wires must be removed from the broken switch and in inserted in the new switch. The product is well marked - just follow the markings on the old switch and connect the wires to the corresponding terminals on the new switch (L-L,1-1, 2-2, etc). It's also best to remove the wires from the old switch intact since the ends are tinned and this makes them easier to insert in the new switch

The old switch swallowed its little metal-bead cord, and I just wasn't able to put humpty-dumty back together again. I picked this up and it worked great for my ceiling fan. What a relief!

Good product with everything you need except instructions. Assumption that everyone should know is incorrect. If you alread don’t need further instruction forget critique.

Where do I begin? This switch saved my family. My son's fan cord became faulty on a breezy spring day. After a few thrusts of a toothpick into the cord's hole -- the switch would resume accurate position and allow for light in his room once more. This tactic worked for a few months -- until the toothpick proved useless. Thus, a dark room was our son's reality. With darkness came a mouthy preteen and a bad haircut. He was relentlessly mean to his little sister. Laziness prevailed initially - as we didn't want to be bothered in halting Golden Girls binges to fix this switch. But, once we discovered that for under $10 we might get our son back - we arose from the clutches of our reclining couch and replaced the broken one with this. LET THERE BE LIGHT! Unfortunately, we later realized our son was just hormonal and full of angst...so the light or lack thereof didn't really matter. But hey...the switch did it's job and now we can at least see the glaring looks he gives when we walk past his musty room full of secrets.
