- Ceiling Fan Switch Model: ZE-208s. 3 Speed 4 Wire Switch with 4 Pre-Installed Wires.
- Fan replacement part function : OFF, L-1, L-2, L-3
- Switch Function: OFF, High, Medium, Low.
- Switch electrical rating: 6A 125VAC – 3A 250VAC. Material: Plastic Shell and Brass Pull Chain.
- This fan switch is compatible with Hunter, Hampton Bay, harbor breeze, Westinghouse Fans etc.
Notes:
Before rewiring any ceiling fan,turn off electrical current at source by switching off circuit breakers.
WARNING:Failure to disconnect power supply to ceiling fan may result in serious injury or death.
Zing Ear ZE-208S Wiring Instructions
1.Check wires and make sure to observe and write down what wire color from the fan is connected to what terminal number on fan switch(1,2,3,L)
2.Cut the four wires from the existing fan switch using wire stripper and set it away.
3.Strip wires around 1/2 inch.
4.Connect the Black wire (L) from the new fan switch to wire noted in step 1.
5.Connect the Red wire (1) from the new fan switch to wire noted in step 1.
6.Connect the Blue wire (2)from the new fan switch to wire noted in step 1.
7.Connect the White wire (2)from the new fan switch to wire noted in step 1.
- Secure connection between the wires using wire connectors by twisting them clockwise
- (Connection of wires must be tested and verified,otherwise it may result in fire hazard,electrical shock or serious injuries)
Color Codes For Fans (Your Fan Wires Color & Position May Vary)
Harbor Breeze ceiling fan:L=Black,3=Purple,2=Brown,1=Grey
Hampton Bay ceiling fan:L=Black,3=Grey,2=Brown,1=Purple
Hampton Bay ceiling fan-Alternate colors:L=Black,3=Yellow,2=Purple,1=Red
Huter ceiling fan:L=Black,3=Green,2=Brown,1=Grey
Some basket fans:L=Black(power),3=Black(not power),2=Blue,1=red
Some exhaust fans:L=Black(power),3=White,2=Brown,1=red

Install this new switch in my overhead ceiling fan and it only took a couple of minutes. Pull the chain on the switch and it works perfectly and I couldn’t be happier.

The switch replacement was really easy. My old switch was exactly marked like the new switch was, with numbers 1,2,3, and the letter L. The wires were slightly different colors, but it doesn’t matter. Just match the numbers and letter L. Now that it’s been installed it feels really solid and works perfectly. Overall it’s a job that just about anyone can do.

Perfect fit now ceiling fan works again. Saved having to buy a new fan. Now I just have to get everyone when pulling the chain to go easy you are not starting a chain saw.

There were no instructions with this switch , so I matched wire color for wire color. I now have a working fan , but the speeds aren't in the correct order. Not that important to me , but might be to someone else.

The ones you get at Home Depot or Lowe's are not as easy to install as this one. If your doing it your self I would recommend this one...

I purchased this replacement switch and it only lasted 2 weeks before the chain pulled out. I thought it may have been a fluke so I'm trying it one more time. So far so good, but maybe look at one that is slightly more expensive for better quality?
