Your cart is empty. A Barlow lens is the astronomy accessory that keeps on giving! Insert it between your eyepiece and your telescope to get double the magnification instantly. Let’s say you have two eyepieces in your accessory case, a 10 mm and a 25 mm. Add a Celestron Omni 2X Barlow Lens to the mix, and now you have four magnifications to choose from. Combining this lens with the 25 mm provides double the magnification, or the equivalent of a 12.5 mm eyepiece, while the 10 mm gives you the power of a 5 mm eyepiece.
Eye relief is the distance your eye has to be from the first lens in the eyepiece in order to see the full field of view. When you use a Barlow lens with an eyepiece, you get double the magnification, but the eye relief is not affected. This is a good thing, because normally the shorter the focal length of the eyepiece, the less eye relief you have. In other words, a standard 10mm eyepiece, as a general rule, will have better eye relief than a 5mm eyepiece. Bonus!
The Celestron Omni 2x Barlow comes in a sleek, silver package. The two-element optics are fully multi-coated, and the edges of the lenses are blackened to cut down on internal reflections. The 1.25” barrel will fit in standard 1.25” focusers and diagonals, and the Barlow will accept 1.25” eyepieces. A metal thumbscrew locks the eyepiece firmly in place.

The lens itself is very well built. Turned aluminum housing, good quality plastics, good optics, and the threads hold eyepieces well. The threads are a bit squeaky and rough on mine, though what matters is the image. I can get tack-sharp images through this Barlow, without any perceptible distortions. The included dust caps fit snugly.Do note, it does make the image darker. That's due to the physics of what the lens does, and is unavoidable. It's a trade-off, something very common with optics.

While this is not the best barlow on the market, it certainly does the job well on a Celestron NexStar 127SLT. I've paired it with an Orion 15mm Ultra Flat Field eyepiece and a Celestron Ultima Edge 10mm Flat Field eyepiece with good results. Viewing is nice and sharp especially on planets. It is medium priced and does a good job.

Perfect addition to our astronomy kit for our telescope. Gave us great zoomed in views of the moon and other celestial objects. Quite exciting to see everything so much closer!

I have not been in to this hobby before so I don't have a lot of experience with eyepieces but I can say this has indeed increased the range on my Zhumell Z130 telescope and having the lower element able to be unscrewed and attached directly to my 25mm and 10mm eyepieces is a bonus. It was also the only way for me to be able to get in focus using my DSLR and a T-ring adapter. Screw the lower removable element to the bottom of the adapter and I can take images with my Nikon. High magnification can be a double edged sword. Yes you get zoomed in but it makes things have an apparently much faster movement through the view. Be aware of that. It also means your spotting device must be very accurate or you will have trouble finding planets and other smaller viewing items. This has given me very sharp views of Jupiter, Saturn and the moon easily enough and allowed me to get DSLR images. Thumbs up.

I didn't have to return it but really caused me an hour of frustration trying to figure out why the lens was capped and if the item was defective. Honestly, I have no idea how the cover popped off but I was tinkering with it very carefully for an hour. Celestron should have made this easier to open - I am sure there have been plenty of returns because of this. Once opened, no issues.

Prodotto arrivato nei tempi giusti e senza difetti. Ho effettuato ormai diverse prove con questa lente e devo dire che sono molto soddisfatto. Il montaggio sul mio telescopio risulta estremamente semplice e la pulizia della lente è facilmente eseguibile. Consigliato

Es un lente básico para observar mas detalle de la luna por ejemplo. Mejora la nitidez para la observación. Es de buena calidad.

War beim ersten Test enttäuscht von von der Qualität des gesehenen Opjektes. War aber nicht ganz dunkel und daher kann sein das Störlicht dabei war! Die Verwendung ist auf einem Celestron Fernrohr!mfGLothar Sandner

Produit très bien fait, s'adapte parfaitement à la Celestron 22096 NexStar 102SLT. Le grossissement fonctionne parfaitement. On voit nettement mieux (grossissement et netteté). Fonctionne bien en combinaison avec le Celestron 93230 Oculaire zoom 2.5 cm / 8-24 mm.
