We've had the same log set since we bought our house 17 years ago and wanted to make it more of a focal point. These logs fit the bill. Haven't decided to just use these, or use some on top of the original log set. They look "natural" from a distance, especially with the screen closed. They are on the longer side, so make sure to measure your insert to see if they'll fit. When the fire is on, they emit a decent amount of heat, but they do cool off pretty fast, so not the best at heat retention like rocks . They should last for years. They do get an unnatural burnt look from accumulated soot, mostly due to the light color. Price is about what you would expect to spend on a log set. There are some mesh impressions from manufacture, so try to keep that side down for the most realistic appearance. Not bad!

Really cool looking fake logs. I plan on using them for a Halloween project. They are a perfect size and look really realistic. Would also look good in a unused fireplace.

We are converting our wood fireplace into a gas burner with fake logs.I prefer the look of birch to "oak" and other brown or dark logs. Typically white birch costs premium prices. This is a relatively passable set of faux logs, with variations in size (length and girth) as well as knobs and "cut branches"--which allows you to stack or configure the logs in various ways.As others have mentioned, there's a mesh texture to the bottom from the manufacturing process. The white is chalky and does char and blacken where the flames make contact--which might be deliberate so the "wood" looks "burnt"--this isn't a problem if you stack and arrange your logs exactly as you want before the charring takes effect: it would look 'natural' to have the wood blackened where the flames touch.I as well as others received one log broken.**DO NOT USE SUPERGLUE TO REPAIR!! I created a chemical reaction that created heat and smoke when the glue touched the fuzzy interior insulation material. The logs are a bit thin and thus slightly delicate/fragile. Once broken, I do not recommend attempting repair, just throw it away.3.5 out of 5 stars from me!

Logs looked great in my fireplace before using, but one of the small ones was broken when I opened the package. I felt it was too much trouble to return the entire set, so I discarded the broken piece. After just one use, many of the logs were charred beyond recognition. Cannot recommend this set.

I was actually very surprised at the quality of these logs! I didnt expect them to be this sturdy and heavy! So that was a good surprise! Make sure to measure your fireplace before you commit to the bigger sized ones! I struggled a little to get the two big logs. You can easily opt for the smaller version, or, just exclude the big ones out of your fireplace. I like the aesthetic of them. Im not a fan of the soot that comes of them. Not sure if thats just my fireplace, or it just comes with the whole ceramic thing.

Ever since I moved into my home just over two years ago, I have not put any logs inside of my gas fireplace because I haven't seen anything that I like. I saw this set of birchwood ceramic logs and was really drawn to them because my home's interior is contemporary with black, white, and grey coloring throughout. I thought I would give these a try and I'm really glad I did because they look so nice in person. I kept going back and forth on which of the two sets I would order since they both have their benefits spacing-wise, but ultimately I went with the set that has the two chunky large logs and the smaller ones to go around it because I thought more of a variety would be better than having a bunch of logs the same thickness. They look truly awesome and I'm so glad my fireplace now has something inside. I would recommend these logs.

We ordered these to replace some old fake-looking logs in our open gas fireplace. The logs are sturdy, light and have an attractive design. At distances of a few feet away they look convincing. Overall nice product but the ~$100 price seems a little high.

We had to wait until our plumber could come out and install these excellent quality, heavy duty, gas logs in the fireplace for us. We had the fireplace inspected and followed the suggestions given to us to make it safe to use the gas logs. the ambiance and warmth these well made ceramic logs make is very noticeable and much appreciated. We have been using the room more now that the nights are cooler and the room is warm.I do highly recommend these high quality, well thought out and well made ceramic logs for everyone with a gas fireplace. You will have many more enjoyable times using these logs.
