I am using this broom handle for a deck squeegee to remove snow. When the snow is wet and heavy it puts a lot of stress on the broom handle and the old broom handle with a plastic tip broke. This broom handle is much better for heavy duty work - it does not flex and the tip feels very solid. The broom handle is pretty heavy, the handle (without the squeegee) weighs 1.34 pounds. The tip has the metal crimped onto the wood handle and the tips fits very securely. I got in the middle of winter and has used during several snow storms. So far I am very pleased.Ali Julia review

I can't get more than a few years' life from a tubular steel handle. Especially if it sits outside on my deck all year. This handle is also longer than most steel tube handles. It's just better than everything else.

it's sturdy and straight and long, but it's too thick to screw into the standard mop head. That means you will likely need to nail it to the mop head, but in any case you will lose the mop-head functionality of holding the rag in place

We buy a lot of broom style handles. Please trust me, these handles (12/$56), are the best by far. Previously I bought others, one in particular I fell sucker to, was a rubbermaid "commercial". It looked like a W. C. Fields pool cue. Stick with this item number.

This smooth handle is long & feels good in hand. The metal capped screw tip fits my new Fuller brush head very well. A pleasure to use. Very satisfied.

Super durable using it for a spear tip. Thrown many times and has hit the floor hard and scraped over and over and its still in functional condition!.....its been threw it all so if your using it for sweeping. Your probably never going to have any type of problem with it....ever.

These sticks are solid. if you manage to break one I'd personally give you a firm handshake. I recommend a fine sand on them and varnish finish to freshen em up if you care. I bought 12 for ~$7 versus one for $25.
