Feather boa is fluffy with minimal shedding. It measures the full five feet as advertised. Straight out of the package it is already decent and shouldn’t require much fluffing. I ordered this to build a plume for my Vegas showgirls costume I made for a bartending event.It does shed feather a lot but it did the job I needed.It is thick and full, it’s beautiful. Just not really made for more than one use.

This boa works well for one or two uses, appropriate for a costume. The feathers fluff up pretty well once it's removed from the airtight bag. They do shed a fair amount, so you may want to remove it from the bag outdoors. Because of the shedding, I'm not sure it would last more than a couple of uses. But it works for the average costume party.

This is as close as I could get the photo to match the exact color of the boa. It is actually jet black. So dark that it does not show off well in a closeup. You would only know what it is if it were draped around a woman. It sheds but I guess that is to be expected when dealing with feathers. Not sure how you to store a feather product. I put it in a large zip lock bag to protect it since it is a natural product that might attract moths, silverfish or similar household pests.
