Using this for a new green house we just built for our urban farm. I just love the concept of having a gas-filled piston open and close a venting window based on temperature alone. No electricity, no mechanics. Just a simple, elegant design.On the practical side, it does the job in great fashion. The temperature in my greenhouse is moderated just right. Plants are happy.On implementation, I found I had to mount the inside part of the mounting arm on a 1.5" thick piece of wood to prevent the arm from scratching against the window pane. That wasn't hinted at in the instructions, and it took us a while to figure that out.

Bought this for my wife's green house. Pack of 2. Works great. Had my doubts installing because it was hot and wax cylinders were extended. Put them in the fridge to make them retract. This made install easier. After install they both slowly opened and stayed open until we had a cool snap. When temps fall below 70F they slowly close. Easy to install. Highly recommend.

Easy to install and work great. Saved me so much time having to manually open and shut the vents with every temperature fluctuation that Idaho springs and summers can bring. Saved my flowers from cooking when I forgot to open things up on hot summer days. Highly recommend for any greenhouse.

Even putting the pistons into the fridge and freezer, the still would not retract at all.

These work exactly like they should. My biggest complaint is the installation instructions but there are multiple videos online on how to install these hinges as well as operating tips like, in cold climates you need to bring inside the gas-filled cylinders to keep them from freezing.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!! I ended up buying 2 more since they did so good. They are easy ro install and easy to temp control.
