Only flaw is the handle once assembled sticks out so stowage becomes a bit of a challenge. Wish it stowed in and upright position, however I understand why. I think a detent release on the handle fir storage would fix this problem. Otherwise it’s a great addition to the shed

This is my second Chapin sprayer only because I lost my previous one in a move. They last (my old one was going on 10 years) and work very well if you have a large property or need an economical way to regularly kill unwanted weeds or growth. This one did not have a pressure gage, which I liked on my lat one, but other than that they are very similar. It holds 3+ gallons of mixed herbicide (much less expensive than buying a 32 or 64 oz ready to use bottle with an attached gun) and has a big filtered opening for adding concentrated mix and water. the padded traps keeps it comfortable on your back and the sprayer hose is very long so plenty of room to maneuver and reach into any corners, crevices or hard to reach places. Come with 3 spray tips for various applications and can be filled assembled in about 10 minutes.

I received the Chapin 15 gallon sprayer as a gift and it gets used a lot. But I wanted to get into some tighter places to spray. The Chapin backpack sprayer was the obvious choice. Good quality and works great.

Seams to be a good spray rig . If lid fit is tight and a little hard to screw on and off use some silicone grease on the threads makes it very easy to screw on lid.

Last year I purchased this unit to spray vinegar on weeds. It worked great. This year when I went to use it again the seal on the lid was swolen and expanded so that it no longer fits on the sprayer. Noting the 2-year warranty I called Chapin to get a new gasket and was immediately told that I destroyed my sprayer by using vinegar in it. Apparently model 60105 was designed with special seals for use with Vinegar but this model (61800) WAS NOT. Unfortunately, there is nothing in the description that says not to use vinegar in the 61800 sprayer. Looking at the owner's manual there is a generic warning not to use "caustic, acidic, chlorine, bleach or other corrosive solutions". So, you can't use acidic or basic solutions -- but there is no indication of degree of PH that is a problem so you basically can't use anything in it?In addition to this unclear labeling problem, the initial manufacturing quality was poor as the red lid did not fit correctly onto the white/translucent plastic body. I was able to force it on and work past this inconvenience but after one year, the gasket that goes between the lid and the filter basket expanded/swelled to the point that it does not fit inside the lid. I consider this to be a defective product and the company is not willing to honor its warranty. I called them to give them another opportunity to replace the product but they refused.

Easy to assemble the few parts that were not already assembled. Easy to pump, spray pattern was perfect for my yard chores. Definitely recommend this item for misc yard work.

Having tried to deal with nettles, brambles and thistles on with a hand held sprayer before, I am amazed at both the quality of this sprayer and the results I have been achieving with it. When its full of 15 litres its initially heavy but looking after 5 acres of paddocks its an absolute work of art.

Just have to bolt on the pump handle which takes about a minute! Very nice sprayer made with quality parts. Pumps up very easily. When completely filled it's a bit awkward getting it up on your back but once there it is comfortable to wear. If the weight is a problem when completely filled just make up less solution! Wide filler opening.
