live in a condo..so no gas or charcoal grills allowed. this gets really hot and at 500 degrees can sear a steak nicely. i use woodchips for a little flame and flavor as the fat on the ribeyes drips into the bottom of the grill. highly recommend and great price. easy to assemble as well and really well made

We used to have the propane version when it first came out and decided to buy a new one. We went with the electric and so glad we did. It's so easy to use and the food taste just as good. Also love that it doesn't take up a lot of space. We use it at least three times a week. It has made grilling so much fun and easier! Highly recommend!

As others have stated, there is a maximum amount of wattage thar a normal household outlet will allow. In the US, that is 15 amps or approximately 1600 watts. This means that this little guy will not get super hot, but it gets hot enough. It grills food well. I like to spray a little basting sauce (mostly cooking oil) on the grate occasionally to add smoke. I have found it lacking in nothing in terms of flavor, grill marks or heat distribution. I cook on number 5 always, and that is enough to grill, but never burn. As others have mentioned. The temperature gauge is not all that accurate, but it is also unnecessary. Set the dial to 5 and cook. That'd it. It was a more complicated build than I imagined, but I like that stuff. I do wish that the grill had a built in shelf. I believe the previous model did. I believe that the feature wa as deleted as it could have caused tipping problems. I justuse an old TV tray next to the grill. It isso easy, convenient and attractive that it compliments any outdoor space. Never have to buy propane. Never had a flare up. The grates are fairly non stick and are much better than the thin wire bars of some grills. Because it is so simple and easy, I do most all of my cooking on it.

Back problems and I shouldn't lift propane tanks. Grill works fine but it takes longer to heat up and doesn't get as hot as my old gas grill. It gets hot enough to sear meat if you let it heat up on max for 15 to 20 minutes. In most cases you need to keep the cover down to keep the heat in. It's not hard to clean but the grate should be cleaned after each use. It's best to leave the grill on high for 15 to 20 minutes after cooking. This will turn most of the bits and pieces left from cooking to powder. Bottom line it doesn't get as hot as a gas grill. There will be a learning curve to adjust heat and time for cooking. Assembly was a little frustration. All the nuts are labeled with letter, no sizes. All nuts are metric and in a lot of cases an open end is needed a box or socket wont work. I wish I had wrote them down. No directions just follow the picture. Good luck.

I have 3 total of these. Two are table top and this new one is a patio version. The two older table top have been going since the first and second year they came out. Only issue is on one of them I had to recalibrate the thermostat because it got to where the grill was on when thermostat was cut back to off. One of the cons on this new patio version is the light is on all of the time so you don’t know when the element is on or off. The other is on a windy day it takes a lot longer cooking time because of the wider vent gap at the rear making this version a lot less energy efficient. See pictures above. The 2 tabletop version have seen a lot of use and have been very reliable. These are really good for the high heat needed to seer steaks and long term reliability.

I'm not the type of person to leave negative reviews unless it's truly deserved, but this was one of those cases. First off, even if the grill had kept working, it still wouldn't have gotten 5 stars because it doesn't get nearly as hot as it indicates. It says it gets to 500 degrees, but it wouldn't get nearly as hot as my last grill at 400 degrees. As someone who loves high heat for medium-rare and grill marks, I wasn't a fan of the lower temperature. That said, it would've been a solid grill, if it hadn't stopped working after just 5 months, so I called Charbroil, and they sent me possible parts to fix it. They wanted to charge me shipping and handling--I was able to at least avoid that--but they didn't send any tools or instructions, so I basically had to remember how to disassemble it and install the new parts.*** After setting the grill up with the new parts, it took 1 week for the grill to catch fire. I literally started smoking and the plastic part in the front CAUGHT FIRE. This grill didn't last 6 months and the engineering is clearly flawed and unsafe. DO NOT BUY THIS ***

Okay, this grill seems great! I have not yet used it but the quality shines. Everything went together very well. I think the assembly instructions could have been better. The parts could have been marked by a number or letter corresponding to the instructions. The blister pack of fasteners needs a rethink. Once opened the fastener designator is lost, destoyed by opennig it. I appreciate the great cost savings, $90 less than Char-Broil's website. Amazon advertised this as new. I don't think so. After going through all the assembly, the last piece is the hood. What tha! Gouge through the paint on the top outside edge. That's not the worst. Someone tried to cover it up with red paint or nail polish. Was it returned or was it the manufacturer? I don't know but definitely not NEW. Too much work to disassemble and return. I'll satisfy myself with saving $90. I'll update after using.

I really like the aesthete of this bbq. I needed 2 sets of hands to assemble, but it went together easily with a bit of help holding things in place. It fits perfectly on my back deck for impromptu meals and snacks. I would suggest purchasing two bbq bricks to go down under the element to help with heat retention and even heat distribution, but it will work okay without. I’m winter quing so the bricks help.

It is an electric grill and works as expected. Not being a gas grill, the heat is not as quick and hot but still able to grill for about 4 people. Does take a bit more time, but happy with the end result. Overall quality is really good and assemble nicely with parts fitting together. As to grill not reaching high temperature on the gauge which is true, but the gauge is at the top part of the cover which should be expected. The grill surface is still plenty hot to cook food.
