I love the bar. My only knock against it is for almost $500 bucks you’d think it came with a stand. Luckily I have a few tripods around.

This is a great little light set for the DJ side business I have. So easy to set up. When my space is limited and I can’t set up my full light gear, I can still always find space for these low profile lights (even if they have to share a tripod with a speaker). I’ll definitely be ordering a second one of these to give a more symmetrical appearance.

This is my replacement Gigbar for the original Gigbar with the moonflower lights. My original case zipper bit the dust after 5 years. This one is nice and bright. The case zipper seems better, but the sides don’t have much protection. It’s basically a bag so be careful with it.The pass through tripod hole is huge. It wouldn’t clamp down hard enough on any of my existing tripods. Even the tripod that my original Gigbar came with. I ended up modifying the screws on the clamp plate to get it to work. You could also try removing the small springs to get more travel on the clamp.

Why, Chauvet, Why? I own the original GigBar and thought it was a well rounded piece of lighting gear for permanent installation or for mobile DJs. Chauvet made a decent product but not a great one. This thing is a strange size so getting a case for it is going to be essentially non-existent. Good thing Chauvet includes one. Too bad it's crap. The first Gigbar had a nicely designed case that was well padded but had the thinnest fabric and shoddiest zippers known to man. My zipper started to tear the material within just a few uses. BTW, wear and tear on the case is not covered by the warranty...Fast forward a couple of years and I gt this new GigBAR Flex... 2 derby lights, 2 PARs, 4 mini strobes, and can be mounted on the neck of a speaker stand - sounds great! Comes with a bag/case. It flops all around, the pieces of foam do not do a good job holding the shape of the bag and there's no impact protection on the sides.... I can only recommend this product for permanent installation as the case to transport it is rubbish.Okay - how about performance? Well, its easy to control with the included IRC infrared remote and works well with most DMX controllers. The preset patterns are okay; the lack complexity but do the job just fine.Hopefully this one will hold up better than my original GigBar. I'm not holding my breath though. As a mobile DJ, I'm almost afraid to transport this as the case offers little protection.
