I checked a few things before I committed to using these napkins:1. The gold foil remains on the napkin and very little turns to glitter. Some glitter does come out of the package, so probably best to open these and shake a little before putting them out on the table.2. The black napkin is color-fast, so your face and hands won’t turn black. It should be noted that only one side of the napkin is black; the other side is white. This wasn’t a deal breaker for me, but it is good information to have.3. The white side of the napkin is more absorbent since it doesn’t have the black coating, but if you give it a couple of seconds, the black side will also absorb spills. Either side is great for the purpose of wiping fingers or mouth (tested with slightly greasy pizza - worked well).Overall, these napkins are nice and serve their purpose. I look forward to using them.

I have a friend who's turning 50 soon and I'm helping plan a celebration for them. I'm in charge of the decorations and since 50 is a big birthday milestone, I wanted decorations with a fun, yet sophisticated design to them. As I was searching for decorations, I found these napkins. The black napkins with the gold lettering looked great together and I thought it'd be perfect fit for the layout I had in mind. These napkins are going to be perfect to use either for clean ups after the buffet or as a special keepsake for the birthday celebration.
