We older mechanics call these "Church keys". One of these is the very first item to be placed in our tool boxes. We gave our twin grandsons tools and a tool box for Christmas and included one each of these Church keys. Got to start them off right with the proper tradition.These are your typical can opener from the mid century of the 1900s. They are well made and look exactly like what would have been available back in the day. The only thing missing would have been the advertisement of the company providing them.

Sometimes a manual can opener is inadequate for opening a large can of pineapple juice. This bottle opener, which we called a church key in our youth, is great! It takes a second to make an opening and a few more seconds to create a wider/larger opening so I can pour the tasty juice into another container.

I used to have one of these I inherited from my Grandmother. I used it to open metal juice cans, evaporated milk, etc… One day I needed it to help get a lid off and it was nowhere to be found. What was I going to do?!? I was worried it was one of those things they either don’t make anymore or make as cheaply as possible . Imagine my surprise when I received what looks and feels just like my Grandmother’s bottle opener! It’s perfect.
