I purchased quite a few of these flannel stories and cannot wait to use them during story time with my students. I’ve used flannel stories before and find them to be a wonderful addition to learning time in my preschool classroom. There are so many interactive ways to use these and many of the stories are already familiar to the students so I can capture their attention fairly easily and hold onto it until the story is done. A good value and will be used extensively.

This is a great activity. I love that my son plays with it after the story is over and makes up/add to the story. I gave it 4 stars because my three year old was upset that there wasn't an empty bowl. i tried to explain that he can use his imagination which he was ok with but proceeded to let me know that he didn't need to do that with the broken chair. I agree with him, it would have been simple to have included an empty bowl. I took a pic of it and printed it out, cut off the porridge and added a felt back. I also added butterflies per his request and now he said it is perfect. The three little pigs had everything he needed. We have only done the tortoise and the hare once, and have yet to do hansel and gretel, (maybe when he is older). Knowing this i would have still bought it.

With some simple removal of the substantial felt pieces off the sheets and applying the velcro dot you have 4 classic nursery rhyme characters and props and their little story books. The characters stick to the fold-up board that has 4 pockets to put characters into when finished then folds in half to make a handy carrying case. I can't wait for my Grandkids to visit. They are going to love this.

The concept of the flannel board that converts to a carrying case is creative and practical! However, many details are inaccurate, particularly in the written story. There are many spelling and grammatical errors. Also, some of the pieces do not fit with the storyline. Example: the adult ugly duckling is shown trying to swim in a frozen pond, but the written story says that the ugly duckling was a baby when he tried to swim in a frozen pond.Bottom line: we will get use from this, but I will need to invest time and effort to re-write the stories to fit the pieces.
