While it does have some adjustable neoprene padding for one’s shoulders, the straps still cut in after awhile. Adjusting it for more weight distribution can help. Crossing the straps over one’s chest adds some area, but distribution across one's hips helps even more. I thread the straps through my belt if I'm using it a lot, but I have work pants with thick reinforced belt loops. As-is, it’s all you’d probably want for shorter distances and a definite step up over a plain rope. It can be used for longer distances if you need to, though I'd modify it for that, use a harness if I had one, or pack it out if I was using it for deer. It takes up less room than my water bottle, and it only weighs about 9 oz.I planned to just test it out by moving some logs and large branches, but now I know I’ll end up using it for that more frequently than I’ll use it for deer. That’s just our situation; we have a lot of fencing to maintain in steeper forested areas that our UTV can’t reach and a limited hunting season. The older kids can use this too, and it's inexpensive enough to have a couple available. I prefer the shoulder straps for going uphill or for using in flatter areas with the heaviest stuff. I’m using the handle section on it’s own for downhill areas and for more control in trickier spots. It’s nice having both options. The shoulder straps simply thread through the handle, but sometimes I attach them with a carabiner. The handle will frequently move side to side, but this is nice for keeping weight distributed without having to shift the straps. I appreciate the padded handle, though that’s the part which will probably break first. It’s a plastic tube with foam around it. If it does, I’ll replace it with a rubber grip. The handle width is sized for using with one hand, but the loop is large enough to use both hands.Right now leaves are helping things slide (in our region), but it would be easy enough to attach a tarp or small sled to it (which is nice for moving firewood to a vehicle too). You can loop the end around itself onto an object using it’s weight to tighten it, or use the D-rings to shorten it like a belt. The webbing is standard stuff, suitable for it’s intended purpose, and it has reinforced stitching in key areas. The reflector strips are nice and bright.

Made dragging deer easy. The item was easy to get strapped on your back and on the deer which meant that it made getting the meat out of the woods a lot easier. If you are hunting anywhere more than a hundred yards from your house, I really recommend getting this or something like it.

I have a couple different versions of this, but this particular version has the shoulder straps which are a blessing when your hands get tired. I have carpal tunnel syndrome and have a difficult time with grip strength at times, so having the shoulder strap for this helps A TON!

As a hunter & wilderness adventurer I really like the design & variable function of this harness. I'm a 62 yr old woman & this harness gives me the satisfaction in a tool I insist on. I appreciate it's durability, length & strength & can haul 3x my own body weight a decent distance without stressing my stamina. I can also haul uphill since I'm using my whole body strength rather than just my shoulder & arm. If using just the handle, it's size & girth offers strong grip and functionality. It's made well with durable stitching & a stress resistant handle. Great value for the money, easy to clean & store. Do yourself a favor & invest in more than one. Guaranteed you'll make good use of it!

They all laughed at me until they needed this....This deer drag harness is perfect for hunters. The heavy-duty strap makes it easy to drag your game, and the reflective strip ensures visibility in low light. The soft handle and wide shoulder straps make it comfortable to use, even during long hauls. A must-have for anyone serious about hunting
