Got the refurbished one, since it was significantly cheaper - arrived with steel cord completely out - this was with supposedly amazon's checker, or verified, or something. Was too much of a headache to fix myself, so I sent it back. By the way, this thing is significantly bigger than what I expected - looking at the picture I was thinking like 4 inches in diameter (of course it probably said in the description), but it's not - it's pretty dang big. I ended up ordering a new one, and will review that separately (it appears to have arrived in good working condition and functions as expected).

I returned this because it was just to industrial looking. It would not work for my office setting. I can not speak to the overall quality of the product. Ascetically it is cast material with steal braid cable. The cable does not have outer covering. This could work for someone in a warehouse or garage setting.

Yes, this was the balancer that broke while we were was adjusting the tension.
