Got this for a decoration for my son's desk. Looks well made. (Ignore the tiny piece of packing foam on the bottom front). All in all, I'm happy with this purchase, and so is my son.

Put it on my desk as a joke. I liked how it looked and it was pretty silly to hit. The issue is that it sounds like hitting your hydroflask on a metal pole.

This arrived with the black wood chipped and paint off in many places. Inside the box it comes in is no separation between the gong itself and the base, meaning the metal can bang around against everything. Wouldn't even chance buying it again

I have a kid that is hard to wake up in the morning. They adapt to whatever alarm/music/sounds we use to get them up. Seeing this gong I knew I had to order it to try as an alarm for my kiddo. This morning as usual, the kiddo again refused to get up. I grabbed the gong and started hitting it. Within a minute the kiddo was up and groggily complaining that I was being too loud. I don't care how soon they adapt to the gong, it has made my morning routine fun and a little less annoying. It is well made. The gong has two dragons on it. It even has a hook to hang the mallet. It looks nice on my counter when it is not in use.

Bought this gong to get attention at the parts window at my shop. Looks really nice however it sounds like a triangle. Doesn’t ring as expected. If you’re looking to catch attention, just beat it like a snare drum
