This little puppy is nicely made and perfect size for backpack, though I wish it came with a full head cover.It is short so the swing is mainly using your muscle to make the cut, but is an alternative to moving up to a mid-sized camp axe. Though if they made this in a 12-14 model with same head I would be really happy.

Comes in very handy while camping. It's not the Best quality but it's a good price and did what it was intended to do.

I often have "Goldilocks" problems. Things are either too big or too small. Nothing is just..right!I recently bought a 9" wood camping stove. My hatchet I had, was stolen. It was 14", and I thought it was kind of big.I just needed a hatchet for small wood. This size is great! Does the job and doesn't take up much space! Easy to keep in SUV/truck just in case! The picture is accurate how it will fit your hand! All axes/hatchets MIGHT need sharpened when you get them. Later on you'll have to sharpen them again, so you might want to also get a sharpening stone!

I am sure this was a returned item - box ok outside but wrapping was weird and the label attached to axe is all wrinkled and numbers erased-Axe is very dull, try cut soft branch and could do it. It is also a little heavy for the size but that its not a problem, also the plastic cover for the edge is broken already and it is very fragile - I will NOT order this again I will try to order a different type
