Leo Fender was a genius, but some of his designs are more trouble than they are worth. The floating output Jack on a Telecaster is one such example.I’ve bought a lot of these because I have built a lot of guitars. This design is just better in 2 major respects. First and foremost, installation is a breeze. It just works with any standard-sized output sized hole in a guitar.Second - it never moves. The output Jack on a typical guitar sees more physical intrusion and stress than any other piece of hardware on a guitar, including the bridge. The bridge holds stress and tension, but in one direction, and that tension only changes when you change strings, when the tension is released. But the output Jack has to undergo countless cycles of inward pressure and outward pressure. I’ve never had an issue with one of these.And internally, the multiple points of contact with the cable seems to be a great design. The combination of the jack never moving and the multiple points of cord contact work together brilliantly. No more shorting out in the middle of a gig.

I used this on a new build. I've replaced all of my guitar and bass sockets with double spring wiper types. Good chrome plating as well.

Just buy it now! Very nice product. I don't think my Tele sounds any better, but it makes a good solid connection without fail. Easy installation if you can solder 2 wires. Fits like a glove. Looks like Leo Fender designed it. Must have!

This jack is a vast improvement over the old cup type jacks. The contact points are much better for the plug and will out last the old design. No contact bending internally. Great!
