I was able to make a nice sounding melody for the first time ever. I had this clarinet I got at a yard sale many moons ago, and It just sat on the wall as nice looking art for over a year or two, it was missing the metal bracket, and reed and capper (not sure official names for parts) and I didn't want to put my lips on someone else's lip parts so there it sat for ages. Finally got a replacement. I watched a quick video "how to" (still don't know where the little stickers go to be honest, I'll have to look that up also and not entirely sure I have it aligned correctly as this is my FIRST time with a clarinet.)) I did make non squeaky sounds!! It sounded nice, and I had verberation and everything. I felt each groove, each set of buttons change tone and it made sense. I will keep at it. Sounded Jazzy and really felt natural as a first timer. I will watch move videos of how to hold it properly, but for something that was art, is now music. Thanks It is now usable, and I found a new Hobby.My only wish is that it came with more reeds, I will need more definitely but the cap keeps it secure for now. Really happy with this, although I am not a professional I was able to make clear sounds.Attached are photos of before, after, some comparisons and even close up of cork . The old adage "you get what you pay for" applies here. Outwardly, this mouthpiece looks fine. It fits a standard clarinet, and even comes complete with reed attached via ligature (although I would have preferred the reed being packaged in a sanitary wrapping).Unfortunately, the sound quality isn't much to speak of. When I compare it to my regular mouthpiece, the fit of the reed is just slightly off. It wasn't easy to get a clear, stable tone without leakage.Also, the material is ABS plastic which is acceptable for student clarinets, but for more advanced players you want resin or wood.If you're replacing the mouthpiece of a low-end student clarinet, I this is probably okay (although the best bet is to go back to the manufacturer of your instrument). If you just need a cheap spare for practicing or just riffing, this one is okay, but for performing you'll probably want to upgrade to a higher quality mouthpiece.

I got this because I sometimes build experimental musical instruments and I want to make a bamboo clarinet-type thing. For me it seems to work ok, I can blow it and get a sound. I asked my wife to test it out, since she is a 'real' clarinet player and has two clarinets, one her old high-school band clarinet and another professional-grade orchestral clarinet. She had trouble getting this to work on her instruments. She said it might be ok for a student once it got set up properly, but she wouldn't want to perform with it. I guess I'm having beginner's luck with it because it seems ok for me.

In the pictures with two clarinet mouthpieces, the one being sold here is on the right, my original one is on the left.There’s nothing wrong with my original mouthpiece, I just thought it would be nice to have a spare. The new mouthpiece is a touch thinner plastic, the cork looks good. I replaced the reed with a new French reed (after trying out the reed that came with the new mouthpiece). The ligature also looks good, appears to be stainless or at least nickel plated. The new mouthpiece has good tone, but I’m going to have to figure out how to adjust it, or maybe use a different reed, I’m getting an airy, breathy sound at the beginning of each note where I don’t with the original mouthpiece. Clamping down on the ligature seems to help some. I’m going to have to play with it more and see if I can find the remedy, or find a reed better suited to this mouthpiece.Will update the review if I learn anything new.

I will admit that I didn't get this to fit on an actual clarinet. My kid has been showing an interest in different instruments and we've been getting toy ones for him to explore. He wanted to try out what blowing on an actual clarinet would be like and honestly, i didn't want to buy an entire clarinet just for that. This was perfect for our purposes. Wasn't looking for anything super high quality or high end. I just wanted my music-loving kid to explore a different part of music and it worked well for us for those purposes.

This was acquired to replace an older cracked mouthpiece on a used clarinet that I picked up at a charity shopIn addition to being broken, there was the slight matter of sanitary concerns with a used instrument of unknown history. I went ahead and ordered this, and it fits the older instrument perfected.A good replacement part for someone wanting to salvage a older instrument.
