If you haven’t bought this ruler yet, you need to! I like that it’s see through and has the 1/8 squares all over and you can measure down to 1/16. 10/10 recommend!

I previously only had thick and bulky quilting rulers as shown on the right of the pic but as I started to sew my own clothes and applied my pattern making skills, I found out how cumbersome the quilting rulers were. It also didn’t give me the fine measurements I needed in order to fine tune my patterns. This ruler not only has 1/16th increments but it’s also in a grid pattern which is crucial when you’re drafting a pattern for a precise measure and fit. When I received it, I measured it right away against my quilting ruler to make sure that it’s calibrated for the correct inches and it was. Very satisfied.

The light blue color really pops and makes it so much easier to read than the standard red grid rulers. It kinda stings paying over $20 for this, but I work as a technical designer and this is one of my favorite tools to use when measuring black garments or any dark color.

I often find myself needing to measure 20-24 inches and find a yarn stick to be too cumbersome, so I bought this one. It has the 2 inch width I was looking for, but it’s rather flimsy. I was expecting a thicker, firmer ruler. I hope it works out for use with my rotary cutter.

I'm a retired pattern maker and used this grading ruler throughout my career. Hand-making patterns is a dying skill, as most are now made on computers, and this ruler was an invaluable tool for pattern grading, to within 1/16†accuracy.I threw my old one out which was in dire need of replacement, after 15 years or so. And now I only need it for occasional use, but when needed, it's essential. Highly recommended.
