I was very Leary about ordering 10 sheets of paper and having it shipped without being damaged. It was packed very well and arrived in perfect condition. I can' t believe how hard it is to find good quality drafting paper in a 24" x 36" size.

The packaging for this item was totally inappropriate for the type of material. It was in an extra large box without any way to secure it in a flat way, thus the paper arrived completely wrinkled as it had shifted during shipping, making it virtually unusable. The paper itself is too thin/sheer while also a bit too waxy, making pencil extremely difficult to leave a lasting mark on. A complete waste of money.

1000 H Clearprint has been around forever, and it is what draftsmen and architects use to draft on. That said, it takes HB pencil lead and and H lead very well. So well it is hard to erase it completely. There is always a shadow left behind, even on lightly drawn 2H lead. I like Borden & Riley #90 Sheer Trace for doing construction documents as it has a smooth finish and is heavyweight and takes erasures very well, even letting you erase ink when a little moisture is added to the eraser. But it does not come in large sheets. Oh, well in a few years all of us who still draft the old fashion way - with a parallel bar and triangle will be gone and you can look at sterile CAD drawings forever. For now we are stuck eith the old standby. 1000H Clearpint.

Since I cannot find Vincent Vellum any longer, I've switched to Clearprint. Granted, it's a great vellum, but for my purposes, it could be a bit better. I use it to draw and render cars. To do this, I use Prismacolor colored pencil (which goes on the paper VERY smoothly), Chartpak markers, pastels, and gouache. The Chartpaks go on smoothly, and the colors are very rich (the paper doesn't sop up the ink and change the hue or saturation at all. The same goes for the colored pencil and other media I listed.), but within a few days, the image isn't nearly as sharp as it was when I first drew it. I understand there IS marker paper, and I DO own some, but since I draw on both sides of the paper, I need to use vellum. For now, I'll keep buying Clearprint, but I'm always keepin' my eyes open for something better that doesn't bleed.
