Replace the coping strips every time you replace an Overlap Pool Liner. Throw out those old, worn out coping strips and replace them with new ones. If you don't you are risking a short life for all new pool liners. These plastic, non-corrosive clips hold your liner in place on the pool wall before re-installing the top rail.

I would like the plastic to be a softer more flexible material liken to a garden hose so it wouldn't crack when pressure is applied, i.e. someone jumping over the side of the pool instead of using the ladder.

The images shown are for flat coping strips, but twice now they have sent the round ones, which do not fit on our pool liner. Be prepared to spend time on multiple returns if the round profile won't fit your pool liner.

We DIY'ed this, no experience with pool installation/liner work but found this job to be very manageable over a weekend. We purchased a new skimmer and some new plastic coping pieces, our metal and the rest of the parts were able to be reused. When we installed the liner it was SO windy, do not recommend a day when the wind is so bad, but I was nervous about a storm coming in and decided to battle the wind. It wasn't a good choice, but somehow we got it done. We put down a cloth pad underneath to extend the life of the liner.
