This 2†bias tape maker was absolutely wonderful. I’m a very pedestrian quilt maker — no masterpieces for me. However I made two simple baby quilts that I didn’t want to have batting in so I used a strange fabric for the batting that’s a little like fleece. Figured I would make them like a pillowcase and sew them all around and then turn them right side out and all would be well. But the backing was really tough to work with so I tied them and bias-tape bound them instead. It was easy to use and I’m going to get some smaller sizes so I can use pre-cut strips to make tape and dress up some old shirts and stuff. I’ll bet even ribbon would work. Can’t wait to check all possibilities out!

This is a review for the 2" Bias Tape Maker. Overall, I'm very happy with this bias tape maker! It's one of those rare tools that does just what it is advertized to do.I bought this 2" bias tape maker so I could make straps for reusable grocery bags. (Because goodness knows no one but Trader Joes knows how to make a long lasting reusable shopping bag!) This tape maker works perfectly for that.I have found that whether the fabric you are feeding into the tape maker is cut along the bias or not, this little guy performs well regardless! A good tip is to cut the beginning of the strip into an angle so it's easier to feed into the tape maker (this is true of any bias tape maker).

I was super happy to find the 2†bias tape maker since I love my smaller ones, however this one is a bit finicky. The instructions said to cut your fabric 3-7/8†wide but this caused the tape maker to make a large wrinkle in the middle of the bias tape while ironing. I had to fix it by hand which was annoying. I reduced my width to 3-3/4†and it seems to have helped. I feel like the smaller tape makers are a bit easier to use, but this is still better than doing it all by hand.

Overall it is a 5 star, I have no problem using these but a new sewer may have just be aware that it does take practice but well worth it. YouTube videos on their use is plenty. I have a few smaller ones for about 15 years and still going. I couldn't find any large ones like this so I was glad to find it here on Amazon. Sometimes it is nice to have exact matching material, and projects I think look better than store bought. Is a true Clover, made in Japan.

This size completes my set of all available sizes. I love to accentuate quilts and other sewn items with either matching or contrasting binding. Many times, the ready-made tapes don't match the color or the quality of the material, they are not wide or narrow enough and they are rather expensive. Making your own bias tape is also a great way of using scraps.These tape makers are so easy to use and make bias tape out of the fabrics I WANT. Yes, one has to cut accurate strips to have exact tapes, but the effort is well worth it.

This is hard to use. Fabric hard to get started to make binding tape. It is easier for me to just iron and make my own. Disappointed

Great product - I used it for the first time and made 15 m of double-folded bias tape (1" on each "fold") - worked like a charm. First time doing it too. Used it as a binding around a 2 yard fleece fabric to make it into a blanket.
