With California drought years, and a former neighbor's possible intervention, we lost two large eucalyptus trees over the past couple of years. We had tree trimmers take off the top parts of the trees, leaving behind the large trunks up to fence level. Then one of them went to town for us, carving a swirl design into each trunk. My intention was to use those indentations to plant succulents cascading down the face of the trunks. This coco liner will be the base of support and water/soil retention for this project. We're going to cut the liner to the shape of the channel in the trees, and staple it in place. Then we'll add planting soil for succulents, and secure it all with chicken wire. Then we can tuck succulent stems into the soil through the chicken wire, and my expectation is that it will all hold together and begin to grow in due course.I've seen some examples online of people who've done something similar, so I'm encouraged that this will be doable. Once the plantings become established I think it will be a wonderful project brought to life. The flexibility of this coco liner product will be a big key to making it work. The ability to cut it to size is also important. Can't wait to get started!

I recently tried the Lazamit Coconut Coir Fiber Roll, and it’s been a fantastic addition to my gardening and pet care routine. Made from 100% natural coconut fiber, it’s eco-friendly and perfect for my plants and pets. The 16 x 118-inch roll is super convenient—I can easily cut it to any size I need. It’s great for lining my hanging baskets and window boxes, and it also works wonderfully as bedding for my pets. I bought this to line the bottom of my pots, they need to be able to let water run though without dumping the dirt onto the ground. This was a perfect solution for me, I just added a layer to the bottom and then add whatever medium you're using, in my case this was dirt. It's enough to allow the water to drain without eroding the dirt. A lot of my plants require moisture and the coco liner helps to keep some of that water on the bottom. It's easy to cut to size, I used a normal scissor to cut mine down.
