Prior to purchasing this, I struggled with different spoons to push down my Cuban coffee (espresso) into my cafetera (stove top espresso coffee maker) which I love and replace yearly. With this tool it’s a cinch! It keeps the coffee compressed for a perfect brew. The only thing I haven’t taken the time to research is what the different holes are for. Maybe someone can shed some light? With that, it’s useful and very affordable.

Pros: This is a nice tamper with a long handle. I like that it is one piece moulded uniform size. Lightweight. Easy to Tamp. Plastic appears to be durable and would stand up to use, but being plastic not abuse.Cons: Plastic, but you know that coming into the purchase. Not sure how much difference there really is between large 51mm and small 49mm tamper. Could just be my calipers, but this appeared to measure in at 50.5 or even 50mm nto 51mm on the tamper. Granted my calipers are the cheap kind so I'd still get this if your looking for 51 but don't be surprised if off by 1mm.Yes I'd buy these again and recommend to a friend.If you have any questions leave them below and I'll do my best to answer or find you someone that can. Good coffee tamper and does the job. 10g per one shot of 51mm stainless steel coffee filter, for 2 shots, just use 20g (2) of the spoon of this tamper.Although I don't know what use I can give to the wholes it have in the middle.

I lost my scooper on a move and was exhausted on making spills trying to fill my espresso pod with a spoon. I went in blind, not knowing if this would be the right size, but it was. Not sure if there is a univeral size for espresso machines but it fits perfectly with mine and has held up.
