About this item

  • This assembly is a Coleman check valve that is designed for specific Coleman Lanterns and Stoves.
  • Coleman part # 2006381ZCL. Also known as older Coleman part # 200-6381.
  • The check valve and air stem are both made of brass and come together when ordered. The air stem threads into the check valve and is turned with the hollow pump shaft. Turned counter-clockwise, it allows air to flow through the check valve per the check ball. Turned fully clockwise it completely closes the check valve.

I have a Coleman 220 lantern that was my grandfathers. It wouldn't hold pressure in the tank and some trouble shooting brought me to a failed check valve. With some tips online I was able to use a screw extractor to remove the failed check valve (and destroyed it in the process, but it wasn't working anyway so no loss there). This one screwed right in tight. It's best to hand tighten it using the pump and then remove the bleeder and use a long slotted screwdriver to snug it up a little bit but not turn it so tight that the brass is chewed up. It holds pressure perfectly now and works great.

In the end it was a file that barely fits down the hole that got the old check valve out.
