I ordered this cam thinking it was a 454 thumpr comp cam and installed it with the new lifters. After a few hours of run time it started making some rattling noises so I investigated. After further examination I removed the lifters and cam too find both chewed up and ground down. Bent valves, and piston scarring. THIS IS ABSOLUTE CRAP. now the whole engine has to be REBUILT due to this "typo". Come to find out the part numbers match up with the mutha thumpr which requires a built motor. Thanks

This cam I have in a 1971 402 big block with stock dome pistons and 820 casting heads 113cc chambers and a performer rpm intake , it has a very thumpy lopey idle the sound is awesome and it actually performs very well I have engine in a 1993 c1500 long bed with a 4:10 gears and it woke the engine right up running a proform 650 race carb and a 2800 stall convertor and it runs very strong . If you want that nasty sounding cam and not saddle engine with to much camshaft the thumpr cam is the way to go . Works best with 9 to 1 or higher compression .
