Pushed in and put the bolt into the bracket. Done deal.

It took some tweaking and bending on the mounting bracket that included adding a 3/4" spacer and adding a 1" longer bolt from the block for it to clear the headers and mount properly. I also had to cut 7/16" off the top of the tube so it would read properly for the oil level in my 1970 Chevelle SS 396/402. I found it interesting how many people haven't read thier owners manual on the proper oil level for thier BBC's. To much oil is extremely bad for an engine. One guy on Facebook was bragging how his stock BBC held eight quarts of oil with his new filter. So he is adding three quarts more than recommended by GM. My opinion is this is a great dipstick for my car. The price and quick shipping was well worth the labor it took to make it fit properly. I went to the four automotive suppliers in the city I live without being able to find a dipstick that would work. So I was extremely happy to find this one.

Was kinda hard to install, took a bit of bending. Expect to cut the end of it a bit.Went on an 89 Mark IV 454 and took 6qt + 1qt for the filter to make it to the full line.
