Rest assured, though, there’s more to this sparkling glass jug than its appealing design. Its roomy interior holds up to one gallon of honey-and-water “must” all ready for fermentation. Auto Siphon Makes Racking Easier
Our Mead Making Kit comes with a pump-action siphon. Simply position your carboy (with your fermented mead) above the bottles you’ll be filling. Insert the siphon inside your carboy. Then easily pump your mead through our included tube down into your bottles (not included). Together, the siphon and tube will help keep sediment and oxygen from filtering into your bottles, so your mead will retain its optimal flavor and purity.
Helpful Hydrometer for Measuring ABV
What’s the alcohol content of your mead? Use the hydrometer and testing jar included in our mead making kit to find out. These valuable tools help you gauge specific gravity before, during, and after fermentation. Then, you can use a simple formula to determine the ABV (alcohol percentage) of your fermented mead. Has all the equipment needed to get you started. Mine came with a broken test cylinder, sent one email got response same day and received a new cylinder in a couple of days with a hand written note. Great customer service.

When I opened this mead making kit for the first time, I found that the included funnel was broken. I reached out to the customer service by email immediately to notify them of the damage. After a few days, I had kind of figured that they would not respond. To my surprise, within a week, I received a package in the mail with a replacement funnel and a handwritten note from Bold I'land. WOW! I began my first batch and reached out the customer service people again, by email, as I had some concerns with the process in their included recipe. I got a response within hours with encouragement, support, and advice to trust the process. I have reached out to them a total of 3 times and each time they have been incredibly prompt in their responses and very helpful and encouraging. I highly recommend Bold I'land!

This is a good kit that has most all of the essentials for getting started in making mead. But there are a couple items that would benefit from upgrading. First off, the hydrometer that is included, is not accurate. Or at least mine isn't. I'd say it reads abouts .050 low. I did a batch that was 3 pounds of honey to 1 gallon of water. Should have started out at or above 1.100, it had a starting gravity according to the included hydrometer it read at 1.060.Also, I would replace the auto-siphon. It is a pain to use and you really have to work hard to get it primed. I usually end up just sucking on the the end of the hose. Otherwise you jostle it around so much that you disturb all of the lees on the bottom of the jar which defeats the purpose of racking the mead to a fresh bottle.

We are so excited about this mead making kit!This is our first time, and when it arrived, everything was properly packed, and intact, ready to start the adventure! It was clear we needed to buy yeast and honey, no confusion there. I loved how the emphasis was put on cleanliness! The how to videos we're easy to follow and very helpful. At this point, we are just in the brewing stages and have another month or so before we begin to taste and even bottle. I'm looking forward to that process as well and then being able to share with friends and family!!

I wanted to like this product, but cmon guys. This "Mead kit" DOES NOT EVEN INCLUDE THE YEASTS you would need to make mead. They just have a user manual that tells you to go out and buy it. I paid $55 for a mead kit so that all the guesswork would be done for me, which was simply not the case. Also, the powder soap was leaking out the sides of the box when it arrived.

This is a very fun kit to give to anyone who likes DIY and alcohol. It is a very detailed kit with easy to follow instructions. All of the parts are very high quality. It comes with everything you need except the honey and yeast! I cannot wait to taste how my first batch comes out. Once I master it, I want to try all the recipes in the included recipe book.
