The 3 oz size softens in 30 seconds. The 1 pound size take 2 minutes to soften. Then press over your part.
To Make Two Part Molds, chill the first mold half and then press the other ImPRESSive Putty over the other half.

PRESS for great details. This material makes excellent molds, and it is very easy to use. Recommended for polymer clay, clay, fast cure urethanes, soaps, waxes, and ComposiCast White and Black Resin.
To use: Heat ImPRESSive putty until dough/clay like in the microwave. Once the Putty is cool enough to touch, create your mold by pressing an object into the putty. The Putty will become rubber-like after cooling.

Tips and Best Practices for Using ComposiMold and ImPRESSive Putty
ComposiMold and ImPRESSive Putty are the most versatile, easiest to use, and best mold making materials available. They are your tools for duplicating your own parts. We have seen it being used successfully for thousands of people, and we know you can be successful too.
And to help you be successful, we want to share with you tips and best practices that we’ve learned from using our own products.
Tip 1. Start small, start simple, it’s reusable. Everyone wants to start out with an action figure, hollowed out double sided figurine, or thin walled toy motorcycle. Go for it. You Can duplicate almost anything. But we recommend doing this as your second or third mold, not as your first mold.
So what do we mean by starting simple? Use a master part that has a flat side. It doesn’t have to be completely flat. It could be tall or short as long as one side is flat surface to it so you can set it into a simple mold box such as a cup or container. Also, look for pieces that don’t have thin protrusions coming off at different angles. You can definitely mold it, but it will take some practice, which is why simpler shapes are create a nice solid mold making experience.
2. Adhere your bottom to the bottom: Lightweight parts will float. Plastic floats, so adhere it to the bottom of your container. If your part floats in water, it will float in ComposiMold.
3. No Boiling and pour cool: Don’t let the mold making materials boil too much as it will degrade the mold making materials over time. You can also melt in a double boiler or chocolate melter.
4. Store your molds in a cool dry place in a Ziploc: How to keep your molds. Sometimes you make a mold that you want to keep. You can. Just cover your mold by placing it in a Ziplock bag or other sealed container, keep it in a cool, dry place, and it should last you several years with no problems. And of course, you can re-melt it anytime you like.
5. Fix a mold with a heat gun: You can patch a hole in a mold by melting some ComposiMold and brushing it over the hole. This works really well if you place your original in the mold while you are fixing the whole. You can melt the ComposiMold with a hot air gun.

I didn't expect a lot of mold material, but for $17 I DID expect enough to make SOMETHING!! What I got was a tiny piece of mold material that is marginally bigger around than the bottom of a cola can and about the thickness of a piece of bread. Unless I'm wanting to make buttons, this looks like it's going to be pretty much worthless. Certainly NOT WORTH the $17 I paid for it. IF I can find something tiny enough, I will try this later, but not hopeful. If it works, I will revise this, but be aware this is a TINY amount of mold material.

It DID NOT take a clear impression, is too "floppy" to pour anything in it, and it STUCK. to my medium. Had to throw away.

Waste of money. Greasy, doesn't work as good as the yellow product. As far as reheating it, it was worse than the first use.

Unbelievably easy to make molds. Reusable putty that you nuke to make soft, for forming around your item? Just wow. It doesn't stick to the resin I pour in it to make my product. Worth the price. Definitely recommend this for a quick and easy way to make a mold.

Great product. I wanted to try molding a piece of clay that I wanted to make multiple copies and this was wonderful. I really like the fact that I can re-melt the mold and make another. Very user friendly and great to work with.
