I used this to replace my mailbox lock - - I live in a condo. This lock fit like a glove; installation took about two minutes! - - and the key operates much more easily and smoothly than the original lock ever did.

This was the exact replacement I needed- and it fit perfectly! However… be advised that it does NOT come with the locking arm needed. But, I just took the locking arm off my old lock and made it all work. Also, it does not come with any instructions, so I just went off the picture, thankfully it was quick and easy.Overall nice, I just wish it specified more.

This lockset is a bargain compared to the official USPS replacement and same model number and identical in size. Came with 3 keys and lock clip and screw nut for the hasp which you reuse from the old lock. Only difference whatsoever was the hasp nut which has different threading. Simple change out IF BOX DOOR IS OR CAN BE OPENED. If you can’t coax you box open then you’ll have to drill out the old, meet the mail carrier and hope they’ll let you reach through with a 1/2†nut driver, or call a locksmith. Hopefully it’s not a federal crime tampering with your own mailbox.

This was a quick and easy replacement for a broken mailbox lock. After contacting the post office, I found that my mailbox’s lock on our street’s cluster box was my responsibility. The PO did say they would replace it for $50. But, they were unable to provide a timeline. I’d need to go to the PO each day to get my mail for an unknown period. So, I decided to replace the lock myself. The only potential issue turned out to be a non-issue in my case. Before I knew about the need to specifically purchase either a clockwise or counter-clockwise lock, I ordered this lock, which is clockwise. The next day, when looking at an instructional video, I found out about the need to do so. Later, I noticed my neighbor, whose mailbox is directly under mine on the same pedestal, open his counter-clockwise. I then thought that what I ordered would not work. But, I inspected the mailbox to see if there appeared to be anything that would inhibit proper function in either direction. There didn’t appear to be, so I decided to try the clockwise lock when it arrived. It works perfectly. Our cluster box appears to work with locks that function in either rotation.

My mailman told me my lock needed to be replaced and that the post office would charge me $35. Well I decided to buy this lock for a fraction of the cost and guess what? It was the exact same lock that was on the mailbox in the first place. It was very easy to install.
