For legal purposes you have to put infants in lifejackets on some boats while under way. It is surprisingly difficult to find a jacket that is actually made for infants. We put our 4 week old in this jacket and it worked great. He is super chill, but I imagine some kids would get upset at being in it too long. But it’s not about comfort, it’s about safety. The lower strap is wide and supportive. The upper section wraps around their neck snugly to keep their head above if they go in. Reputable brand, good quality, highly recommend for babies!

Our baby is only 9 lb at ten weeks old and this fit baby well! I didn’t test it on baby out in the water because we were at a lake and water was somewhat cold, but baby was in the life vest for most of the day while on a boat. Baby didn’t cry or mind it for almost the whole day! I felt safe with baby on the boat in the vest.

We have used this life jacket for multiple lake trips between 4-6 months for our baby. He wears it primarily in the boat for safety, but I also tested it out with him in the water and it does a great job of keeping him floating face up and leaned back in a safe position. As far as safety and peace of mind, this life jacket is great.Comfort wise, I wish the strap between the legs could be adjusted to keep it from riding up so high on his face. Even when tightening the portions that are adjustable, it’s hard to keep the jacked pulled down and it rides up and covers his mouth sometimes. He seems to be comfortable enough to sleep in it during boat rides, but I worry about obstructing his breathing some and am constantly adjusting. However, I think you’d likely run in to this problem with any life jacket for this size.That being said, our friends with a lake house were extremely impressed with it compared to other life jacket options they’ve used for infants in the past as far as its fit and safety features and I would recommend it.

This is easy to use and kept my grandson's head well out of the water. He kicked and played so hard he took a long nap after each adventure.

Tried this out in the pool on my 14 pound 11 week old and it works so well!! Her little head was secure but not too tight. I like that all the flotation is on top and around her head to really make sure her head is above water. I felt so much better when taking her on the boat, just having this on her. It was slightly hard to nurse in but that was the only time she fussed.

Didn’t fit around my daughter’s neck/head properly. She looked uncomfortable. Ended up purchasing a more expensive one.

We have a boat and I was worried every life jacket would be too big for our baby since we wanted to take him out at only a few weeks old. This fits him and he'll be able to wear it for a while. It's still a life jacket on a baby so it takes a little practice to get it right, hold him, ect. We tested it and it keeps him afloat and his head up out of the water.Some people told me to just hold him on the boat... don't do this. Buy your child a life jacket. There are crazy boaters out there and adults drown in the lakes near us every year. Buy it!
