Your cart is empty.Continental Elite Overrunning Alternator Decoupler Pulleys include a patented internal torsion spring that is tuned to the specific engine application. The spring absorbs base-engine vibration before it reaches the alternator. It also connects, but isolates the alternator pulley from the rotor, which in turn effectively eliminates the vibration felt by the driver. OADs include a one-way clutch (decoupling feature) that enables the alternator to coast freely if belt speed suddenly decreases, such as an engine shut-down or a transmission shift. Lower system tension decreases vehicle noise level, vibration, and harshness, and improves front-end accessory drive component life and fuel economy.

And a little hint..... come at this project from underneath the vehicle and remove AC compressor AND BRACKET. Then push AC Compressor Out of the Way. With the AC compressor and bracket out of the way now remove to Alternator bolts and the wires and the alternator will slide right out of the space where the AC Compressor bracket was!

Not much to say. Decoupler pulley went bad on my wife's caliber. Getting the alternator out was a pain, but with the proper tools, the old decoupler came right off and this one bolted right back on. Far cheaper fix than replacing the whole alternator.

Fits beautifully and the alternator runs so QUIETLY now. Requires a 14mm hex/Allen impact socket for removal/installation. I'd certainly recommend this product. Used 2 days and several hundreds of miles already.

Decoupler Pulley worked great: with toolset ...no problem tightening. Suggestingbefore thightning with air gun push (down)decoupler on alternator shaft ...anti clock wiseto find start of threading; then ( turnclock wise)hand tight... air gunto secure ...should lay 1/8 inch above alternator.

I'm rating this item with 3 stars because of a missing cap that was required with the new coupling. That force me to use the cap from the old coupling.
