Model "DP" pull-cord drain valves have many industrial and automotive applications. The brass stem tilts to open the valve at minimum pull cord force. The stainless spring returns the stem to positively seal against a nitrile o-rind when force on the cord is released. Brass body, washer, and stem. 200 PSI max, 200°F max.

Great replacement for the standard air-compressor drain valve. Keep in mind it must be pulled at roughly a 90-degree angle to the valve's axis. That means installing it with a pulley to change the direction of pull on the cord, OR bending over a bit. I do not consider this to be a problem as it increases the convenience of draining the air compressor. This greatly increases the probably that you will drain the compressor regularly and therefore increases the safety of the pressure vessel itself by reducing rust.

Tractor trailers have these to quick drain the air tanks, no gloves, no wrenches, just pull the cord. In the past, we bought these from truck parts store so we could drain a compressor that was bunked high. As an airbrush artist I also use a smaller portable tank and put one on that. It beats a butterfly valve every day of the week. I turned allot of artists onto these. They are so much easier, regardless of your compressor and setup, which means you will be draining your tank more frequently. All air compressors that I have ever encountered use the same size drain valve. They are a standard size.

Just before installing this I drained a good half gallon out of my compressor. It was a PIA to drain and therefore easy to forget about/ignore. As other state it doesn’t drain fast if you want to empty the whole tank, but you shouldn’t normally do that anyway. I can now easily purge the water that forms anytime I’m using the compressor, so buildup is no longer an issue. A quick, few second, pull is all that required to maintain a water free tank.

My Diesel pusher coach had 'spitter' drains that were old and corroded,, so rather than deal with those I decided to put a set of manual bleeders in. bought these June 1,22 on our return trip from Alabama I noticed that the air bags were bleeding down much faster recently, I aired up the system and went to bleed these off and they did not close properly, crawled under the coach and messed with them and could get them to seal... mostly... soapy water spray bottle proved they indeed were NOT sealing. I am not impressed with the quality, and will have to replace them now.

Seems to work very well to drain the tank on my air compressor. Much easier than bending over to reach under the tank. I've used the product for about four months so far; however, I don't know how well it will hold up long term as the cable to the value seems somewhat light weight. It was inexpensive so was worth a try.

I recently purchased a new vertical compressor. As seems to be the case with almost all verticals that I looked at, the oem twist open drain valve is so close to the floor that it is difficult at best to get a hand on to open. This solves the problem perfectly. Always had these on all of the air tanks on the 18 wheelers I owned and never had any moisture buildup problems as it was so easy to simply walk around the truck and pull the cables to remove it.

I bought a pair of these in 2015 for supposed easier draining the air tanks on my M35A2 but I replaced them with just brass quarter turn valves. What I didn't like about these cable operated drains were:1) It took longer to drain the air tanks as the air flow was significantly slower.2) The cable was too thin and hurt my hand while I stood there pulling the cable (I'm sure I could have covered the cable in a hose or something, but see reasons #1 & #3)3) These valves wouldn't always return and seat properly, causing them to leak air, which made me to still have to climb under the truck anyway and adjust them, defeating the purpose.I do not recommend.

We purchased this to replace a 60 gallon air tank drain valve that had been removed by the previous owner. It was a perfect fit and it does not leak. A simple pull of the cable will vent the tank. I would buy again. Great price!
