The Control Devices ball-type check valve provides tight sealing, and can be used as a tank check valve for small compressors or as a component in pneumatic circuits. The valve body is made of brass for corrosion resistance, ductility at high temperatures, and low magnetic permeability. Brass can be connected to copper, brass, plastic, aluminum, and welded steel. Fluorocarbon O-rings provide higher temperature and chemical resistance. It has female National Pipe Taper (NPT) threads on one end and male NPT threads on the other for connecting a male and a female threaded pipe. The NPT threads create a tighter seal than straight threads. The maximum pressure rating is 250 pounds per square inch (psi), and the maximum temperature is 250 degrees Fahrenheit.

Check valves have two ports and restrict the flow of fluids and other loose materials through a pipe or passageway to one direction. Flow enters through one port and exits through the other, closing when flow reverses or stops. Two common types of check valves are ball cone valves and swing check valves. A ball cone valve utilizes a spring-loaded ball seated against a cone-shaped interior surface to stop the flow of fluid in a forward direction, and a swing check valve has a movable disc on a hinge to block reverse flow. Check valves are rated by their cracking pressure (the minimum upstream pressure required for the valve to operate), and they are used in various water, gas, air, and steam lines.

Control Devices manufactures specialty valves, nozzles, and condensate traps. The company, founded in 1963 and headquartered in Fenton, MI, meets ASME standards.

I have used this product for a year now , with no problems , still holds firm for my air system on my truck. If you need a good quality check valve this is the way to go .

Needed a one way valve for an air tank on my jeep. This works perfect. My air compressor must have a leak in the inside because the air tank would go empty over night With this now the tank retains the 90 psi overnight and tor 2 days now. Only installed 2 days ago.

Have a dual 12v compressor system. Compressors came with their own one-way valve. Compressors are joined together at a "Y" directly after the check valves. After some time my air tank would lose more and more pressure overnight. I am extremely happy so far with my purchase. These valves seal extremely well. I do not lose any air overnight. The compressors sound much healthier while operating. Am concerned over longevity so I purchased a spare. The coating of sealant is as expected from this sort of product. I did a minor remove of excess sealant just to not fight the threads. This is really the only issue I think could be improved upon but is extremely difficult with a machine doing the job. My recommendation would be to apply no thread sealant and let the end user appropriately seal the fitting.

I went another route but it's exactly what it says it is looks to be made well couldn't say anything as far as performance again looks to made well. I'm sure I'll use it down the road.

Bought this to replace a leaking check valve in tank on the prehistoric compressor, Needed some extra fittings to make this work, but it has good flow and works as intended. Worth 9 bucks
